Daniel 2:20-23

Daniel 2:20 Daniel answered and said, Blessed be the name of God forever and ever, for wisdom and might are His.

Daniel 2:21 And He changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and sets up kings. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding.

Daniel 2:22 He reveals the deep and secret things; He knows what is in the darkness, and the light dwells with Him.

Daniel 2:23 I thank You, and praise You, O God of my fathers, who has given me wisdom and might, and have made known to me now what we asked of You. For You have now made known to us the king's matter.

Pray for visions, and dreams for the coming year 2012 to happen in it's time.

GOD'S WISDOM, KNOWLEDGE AND POWER

VII. EXPLICATION:

A. Date and Time of Writing: 165 BC

B. Authorship: Daniel, who was confirmed a prophet by the Lord Jesus Christ (Matthew 24:15)

Matthew 24:15 Therefore when you see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place (whoever reads, let him understand.

C. Central Theme:

1. Visions and Prophecies of Prophet Daniel delivered by angels.

D. Purposes of the book Daniel:

1. To establish hope in future restoration by reflecting in vision God’s dealing with Israel’s national sin through the times of the Gentiles.

2. To instruct and admonish the people of God in the crisis of faith.

3. To challenge “the faithful to be awake and ready for the unexpected intervention of God in wrapping up all of human history”

VIII. MAIN BODY:

A. God deserves all the praise for His Knowledge and Power. (v20)

Daniel 2:20 Daniel answered and said, Blessed be the name of God forever and ever, for wisdom and might are His.

Psalms 41:13 Blessed is Jehovah, the God of Israel, from everlasting, and to everlasting. Amen and Amen!

B. God can change the seasons. (v21)

Daniel 2:21 And He changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and sets up kings. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding.

Psa 31:14 But I trusted in You, O Jehovah; I said, You are my God.

Psa 31:15 My times are in Your hand; deliver me from the hand of my enemies, and from those who persecute me.

C. God can promote or demote a king. (v21)
