This sermon explores the transformative power of God's grace in our lives, emphasizing its role in our salvation, spiritual growth, and guidance toward godliness.

Introduction

Good morning, beloved family in Christ. I am so glad to be standing here today, in the warm embrace of our shared faith, to share a message that has been stirring in my heart. It's a message about grace - that amazing, life-altering, heart-transforming gift that God has so generously bestowed upon us. It's a message that speaks to the very core of our Christian faith and our daily walk with God.

As we gather here today, let's turn our hearts and minds to the words of the apostle John found in John 1:16-17, "Out of his fullness we have all received grace in place of grace already given. For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ."

These verses remind us of the abundant grace that we have received from our Lord Jesus Christ. It's a grace that doesn't just replace the old, but it builds upon it, it enhances it, it completes it. Remember the wise words of Charles Spurgeon, the prince of preachers, who once said, "Grace is the first and last moving cause of salvation; and faith, essential as it is, is only an important part of the machinery which grace employs. We are saved 'through faith', but salvation is 'by grace'."

Indeed, my dear brothers and sisters, we are saved by grace, we grow in grace, and we are guided by grace. It's a grace given generously, a grace growing in godliness, and a grace guiding to glory.

So, as we prepare to unpack this message today, let's bow our heads in prayer. Dear Heavenly Father, we thank You for this beautiful day that You have made. We thank You for the grace that You have so generously given us through Your Son, Jesus Christ. As we delve into Your Word today, we ask that You open our hearts and minds to receive and understand the depth of Your grace. Help us to grow in godliness and guide us to Your glory. In Jesus' name, we pray, amen.

So, let's embark on this exploration of grace together. Let's unwrap the gift that God has given us. Let's marvel at the beauty of His grace. Let's allow His grace to grow us and guide us. And let's give thanks for His grace that has been given so generously. Beloved, are you ready to receive? Are you ready to grow? Are you ready to be guided? Then, let's begin.

Grace Given Generously

In the heart of the Gospel, we find an extraordinary gift, a gift that is given without measure, without limit, without end. This gift is the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. It's a gift that is given not because we deserve it, but because of God's great love for us.

This grace, this unmerited favor, is given to us in abundance. It's like a river that never runs dry, a well that never runs out, a spring that never ceases to flow. It's like a feast that never ends, a banquet that never runs out of food, a celebration that never ceases to bring joy. It's like a treasure that never depletes, a wealth that never runs out, a richness that never ceases to amaze.

In the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, we see the fullness of this grace. God has forgiven our sins and reconciled us to Himself. This grace is a gift that is freely given. It's not a payment for our services, but a present that is generously bestowed. It's not compensation for our efforts, but a blessing that is lavishly poured out.

Ephesians 2:8-9. In the words of the apostle Paul in Ephesians 2:8-9, "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast." This grace is a gift, a gift that is given generously, a gift that is given freely, a gift that is given unconditionally.

In the parable of the prodigal son, we see a vivid illustration of this grace. The father welcomes his wayward son with open arms, forgives his rebellious son without hesitation, and restores his lost son without reservation. He then gives his best robe to his ragged son, puts a ring on his bare hand, and sandals on his bare feet. Then there is a feast for his son! This is the grace of our Heavenly Father.

Another example is found in the story of the woman caught in adultery. Jesus extended grace to a woman who was guilty, condemned, and shamed. This is the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ that is given freely and unconditionally. It's a grace that forgives our sins, a grace that heals our wounds, a grace that restores our wholeness.

In the account of the thief on the cross, we see yet another profound display of this grace. We see Jesus promising paradise to a man who was guilty, a man who was dying, a man who was hopeless.
