Have You Heard The Knock

Have You Heard The Knock?
What are you going to do?
Behold, I stand at the door and knock; If any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and sup with him, and he with me.
The appeal made by Jesus in this passage shows that often times all he is waiting for is a reponse from you providing you with a will to say yes and a will to say no. The parrable of the two gates one will be narrow and few will make it through and one will be wide and many will make it through. predicated upon the decision that they have made.
Three Questions concering your reaction to this appeal:
What are you going to do?
1) Will you open the door Immediately upon Christ’s appeal
2) Will you hesitate to open the door upon Christ’s appeal
3) Will you not open the door at all upon Christ’s appeal
Door = Access
John speaks of a door not seen with your eyes in the natural, nor can be touched with hands, neither can it be heard closing or opening, nor can you taste it or smell it. This door is inconcievable by sensual perception.
This door or entrenceway is the heart and the way to salvation
Romans 10:10 Says:
For with the heart one believes unto righteousness
Three People to look:
1) The "Comitted Christian"
2) The "Compromising Christian"
3) The "Unbeliever"
A) The Comitted Christian
1) Has heard the knock and has opened the door of his heart completely and is sold out to the Lord 100%
2) He’s brave and bold yet rooted and grounded in the lord
3) He does not compromise the integrity of his truth (Christ)
B)The Compromising
1) Has heard the knock but the door is subject to be half-way open or half-way closed.
2) He is unpoised and halted between two opinions
C)The Unbeliever
1) He hears the knock but the door of his heart is completely closed to the posession of salvation.
2) He is lost
3) He is a habitual sinner
It is scriptually indicated that life and death are choices we make for ourselves.
Behold I set before you the way of life and the way of death
It should be clearly understood that as Jesus stands at the door and knock he is not liken unto a burgalar who’s going to force his way in. He’s going to allow you to choose the path in which you will travel.
which ever way you choose to travel is clearly a choice for you to make.

1) The Right Way
2) The Wrong Way
