Summary: The primary focus of this message is to remind believers in Jesus Christ that we were saved from a life of sin and was qualified to be partaker of His glory through His suffering. Believers should also have firm convictions and live a life of purpose.

Access Granted: He Rescued Me!

Colossians 1:13-14 (MSG)

God rescued us from dead-end alleys and dark dungeons. He’s set us up in the kingdom of the Son he loves so much, the Son who got us out of the pit we were in, got rid of the sins we were doomed to keep repeating.

The apostle Paul wrote to the church at Colosse because there were threats to what they believed.

You must have a conviction about what you know to be true and not allow any outside factor deter you from the truth. Jesus came to reveal truth and remind us that we are no longer slaves to sin and the power of His death rescued us once and for all!

Observation 1: He Rescued us To Qualify Us!

a. Because he began a work in you. To fulfill a purpose.

Phil. 1:6 (AMP) I am convinced and confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will [continue to] perfect and complete it until the day of Christ Jesus [the time of His return].

(TPT) I pray with great faith for you, because I’m fully convinced that the One who began this glorious work in you will faithfully continue the process of maturing you and will put his finishing touches to it until the unveiling of our Lord Jesus Christ!

b. You faith has qualified you!

c. To be partakers of an inheritance.

d. Qualified to be filled with wisdom and spiritual knowledge. (Vs. 9)

e. When he qualifies us, He gives us a guarantee that we are delivered from the power of darkness.

f. Don’t let what you are going through to disqualify you. You are free!

Observation 2: He Rescued Us To Reveal What Is Inside of Us!

a. His power is limitless and allows us to filled, fruitful and fortified.

b. His supply does not run out.

c. When you face difficulties, learn how to stick it out! Why?

1. Because God’s grace covers your life.

Endure without complaining.

2. The Holy Spirit gives us the ability to endure our struggles.

3. His preeminence has rescued us through His blood, and He has redeemed us.

d. The suffering that we experience is only temporary.

e. You may be experiencing natural and spiritual attacks but this just means you are getting closer to the end of a season of testing.

Colossians 1:20b (MSG) Not only that, but all the broken and dislocated pieces of the universe—people and things, animals and atoms—get properly fixed and fit together in vibrant harmonies, all because of his death, his blood that poured down from the cross.

He rescued us so we could walk right. He rescued us so we would be fruitful in our daily lives. He rescued us so that we would increase in our knowledge of Him. God rescued us from the power of darkness and brought us into the Kingdom of light. He snatched us from the darkness and justified us by His blood. God rescued us to give us a new beginning!
