What type words produce healing and life in us and in others?

1. Wise words

Proverbs 12:18 NIV

“Reckless words pierce like a sword, but the tongue of the wise brings healing.”

Wisdom is the art of living skillfully in whatever situation we find ourselves.

Proverbs 13:20 NIV

“He who walks with the wise grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm.”

Wisdom in – Wisdom out. It’s really that simple.

It’s important to know right from wrong, but it’s also important to know the difference between wise and foolish.

2. Timely words

Proverbs 25:11 NIV

“A word aptly spoken is like apples of gold in settings of silver.”

Simple words, spoken at strategic times can bring healing.

3. Kind words

Proverbs 12:25 NIV

“An anxious heart weighs a man down, but a kind word cheers him up.”

Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me!

It’s simply not true!

One of the most comprehensive marriage studies ever done showed that 90% of couples who repeatedly criticized one another ended up divorced.
