HOW TO BE A WITNESS FOR CHRIST
1.WORDS
Matthew 10:32-33 Matthew 28:19-20
We can be a witness for Christ by our words by confessing Christ before others.God wants us to speak for Him and share the gospel with others.We can witness to others about what Christ has done in our lives.Our experience is a powerful witness which nobody can refute.
2.WALK
Proverbs 14:5 I Peter 2:9 I Thessolonians 2:10
We can be a witness for Christ by our walk in this world.Our life of holiness and purity is a powerful witness before the ungodly world.There must be a difference between the life of a beleiver and the life of an unbeleiver.
3.WORKS
We can be a witness for Christ by our works. Our good works bring glory to God and are a witness of God’s love revealed through us.Our lives can demonstrate the power of God to bring deliverance to the suffering .The Apostle gave witness to the resurrection of Jesus in a powerful way.
4.WORSHIP
Psalm 34:1 Acts 2:4-6 Acts 16:25
We can be a witness for Christ by our worship and praise even in difficult times.When our hearts are filled with gratitude and love for God we praise and adore Him which is a witness before the ungodly people.Paul and Silas praised God in prison loudly so that the other prisoners heard them.God challenged Satan that Job would still praise God even if he lost everything.And Job blessed the name of the Lord inspite of losing everything which was a powerful witness for God.
5.WOUNDS
Acts 5:40-42 II Corinthians 11:23-25 I Peter 4:12-16
We can witness for Christ by the wounds we suffer for His sake. The Apostles rejoiced when they were beaten that they were considered worthy of suffering for the sake of Christ.Our willingness to suffer for Christ is a powerful witness of the genuine love we have for Him.
6.WINSOMENESS
I Corinthians 9:19-23 John 12:32
We can witness for Christ by our winsomeness and love.Apostle Paul adapted himself to different groups of people in order to win them.We cannot win the hearts of people to Christ by condemning them and being rude to them.We must be winsome and lift up Christ who will draw all men to Himself.Our love will attract people to Christ and our gentleness and genuine concern for their welfare will cause them to open up their hearts to us.
7.WISDOM
Colossians 4:5-6 Ephesians 5:15-16 Proverbs 11:30
We can be a witness for Christ by our wisdom. We must use divine wisdom in witnessing for Christ especially in hostile environment.Jesus said ’I send you as sheep among wolves therefore be wise as serpents and harmless as doves ’.Witnessing for Christ in dangerous situations without wisdom can cause great damage to the Kingdom of God and create needless hurdles for others to witness for Christ.Therefore we must use great wisdom as we witness for Christ especially in hostile conditions.
