Summary: Surviving through the most difficult trials and challenges of life.

HOW TO PASS THROUGH THE STORMS OF LIFE AND REMAIN STANDING

Mat 7:24 "Therefore, everyone who hears what I say and obeys it will be like a wise person who built a house on rock.

Mat 7:25 Rain poured, and floods came. Winds blew and beat against that house. But it did not collapse, because its foundation was on rock.

Mat 7:26 "Everyone who hears what I say but doesn’t obey it will be like a foolish person who built a house on sand.

Mat 7:27 Rain poured, and floods came. Winds blew and struck that house. It collapsed, and the result was a total disaster."

I. ANCHOR THE HOPE OF YOUR LIFE ON THE THING THAT WILL LAST FOREVER – (The house)

2Co 5:1 For we know that when this tent we live in---our body here on earth---is torn down, God will have a house in heaven for us to live in, a home he himself has made, which will last forever.

II. BUILD YOUR FOUNDATION ON THE THING THAT WILL NEVER BE SHAKEN ( The Rock)

1Co 3:11 For God has already placed Jesus Christ as the one and only foundation, and no other foundation can be laid.

Col 1:23 You must, of course, continue faithful on a firm and sure foundation, and must not allow yourselves to be shaken from the hope you gained when you heard the gospel.

Eph 2:20 You, too, are built upon the foundation laid by the apostles and prophets, the cornerstone being Christ Jesus himself.

Heb 13:8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

HOW TO BUILD OUR LIVES ON JESUS

a) Hearing from God

• God speak through His word during our quiet time

• Talk to God in prayer

• Wait on and listen to God

c Obeying what we learn from God’s word

• What is the Word saying to me

• Is there any sin in my life that the word is showing

• Is there any command I must obey

• Is there any promise I can claim

2Ti 2:19 But the solid foundation that God has laid cannot be shaken; and on it are written these words: "The Lord knows those who are his" and "Those who say that they belong to the Lord must turn away from wrongdoing."

III. EXPECT THAT THE STORM OF LIFE IS INEVITABLE (Rain, Floods and Winds)

Heb 12:27 The words "once more" plainly show that the created things will be shaken and removed, so that the things that cannot be shaken will remain.

IV. DONT SETTLE FOR ANYTHING LESS AND TEMPORARY (The Sand)

• Work

• Business

• Husband/wife

• Boyfriend/Girlfriend

• Money

• Connection/Wasta

• Education/Knowledge

V. CLING ON THE PROMISE OF GOD’S LOVE EVEN ON THE DARSKEST PERIOD OF TIME.

Rom 8:35 Who, then, can separate us from the love of Christ? Can trouble do it, or hardship or persecution or hunger or poverty or danger or death?

Rom 8:37 No, in all these things we have complete victory through him who loved us!

Rom 8:38 For I am certain that nothing can separate us from his love: neither death nor life, neither angels nor other heavenly rulers or powers, neither the present nor the future,

Rom 8:39 neither the world above nor the world below---there is nothing in all creation that will ever be able to separate us from the love of God which is ours through Christ Jesus our Lord.

HOW TO PASS THROUGH THE STORMS OF LIFE AND REMAIN STANDING

1. Anchor the hope of your life for the things that will last forever – (The house)

2. Build your life on the Foundation that will never be shaken ( The Rock)

3. Expect that the storms of life is inevitable (Rain, Floods and Winds)

4. Don’t settle for the things that is temporary (The Sand, )

5. Cling on the promise of Gods love even on the darkest period of time.
