This sermon explores God's grandeur in creation, His intimate knowledge of us, and His profound love for women, as expressed in Psalm 139:14.

Introduction

Good morning, beloved family of God. I am overjoyed to be standing before you today, enveloped by the radiant warmth of your faith and the shared commitment we have to our wonderful Creator. Today, we're going to bask in the light of the Word, as we turn our hearts and minds to a passage that marvelously magnifies the majesty of God, His grandeur in creation, His gracious knowledge of us, and His great love for women.

In the book of Psalms, chapter 139, verse 14, we find these beautiful words: "I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well." Have you ever paused to truly ponder the profound depth of this statement? Do we fully grasp the wonder of our own creation, the intricate design of our bodies, the complex workings of our minds, the delicacy of our emotions, and the resilience of our spirits?

It is indeed a humbling truth, as Charles Spurgeon, the esteemed Prince of Preachers, once said, "It is not how much we have, but how much we enjoy, that makes happiness." Are we not then called to enjoy and appreciate the grandeur of God's creation, which includes, not just the world around us, but also the very essence of our being?

And yet, this verse doesn't just speak of God's grandeur in creation. It also speaks of His intimate knowledge of us. Isn't it comforting to know that the same God who created the vast universe, with its countless galaxies and stars, knows each one of us intimately? He knows our thoughts, our dreams, our fears, and our desires. He knows us better than we know ourselves.

Finally, this verse is a testament to God's great love for women. In a world that often devalues and marginalizes women, God's Word stands as a beacon of truth, affirming their inherent worth and dignity. God's love for women is not an afterthought or a concession. It is intrinsic to His character and His design for humanity.

God's Grandeur in Creation

In the vast expanse of the universe, we find ourselves marveling at the grandeur of creation. The stars that twinkle in the night sky, the mountains that stand tall and majestic, the oceans that roar with power and depth - all these bear witness to the magnificence of the Creator. This grandeur isn't just evident in the large and the vast, but also in the minute and the intricate. The delicate pattern on a butterfly's wing, the complex structure of a snowflake, the precise rhythm of a hummingbird's wings - these too are a testament to the grandeur of God's creation.

Now, let's turn our attention to the human body, a marvel of biological engineering. Think about the complexity of our brains, capable of processing millions of bits of information every second. Consider the intricacy of our eyes, able to perceive millions of colors and adjust to varying levels of light. Reflect on the miracle of the human heart, pumping blood tirelessly to every cell in our body. Each of these is a testament to the grandeur of God's creation.

Yet, the grandeur of creation isn't just about the physical. It's also about the emotional and the spiritual. Think about the depth of human emotion, the capacity to love, to grieve, to hope, to dream. Consider the resilience of the human spirit, the ability to overcome adversity, to endure hardship, to rise above challenges. These too are a testament to the grandeur of God's creation.

Furthermore, the grandeur of creation is also reflected in the diversity of life. From the myriad species of plants and animals, to the rich tapestry of human cultures and languages, diversity is a hallmark of God's creation. This diversity isn't just about variety, but also about harmony. Each species, each culture, each language, plays a unique role in the grand symphony of life, contributing to the overall beauty and balance of creation.
