Summary: The 6th chapter of 2 Chronicles, records a prayer by the King of Israel. King Solomon prayed when they dedicated the temple of the Lord 6:12, 19.

King Solomon under his reign had built the temple and now at the time of dedication. King Solomon’s prayer was recorded in chapter 6. It is a prayer for God to bless the nation. They were in perilous times. The nation was divided, oppressed on the inside. Solomon prays that God would somehow bring about a spiritual renewal to the people and to the country and that God would heal the land. In chapter 7:12-15, God give answer to that prayer. Remember, it is a prayer on the behalf of the leadership of the country that God would heal the land and bring about a spiritual revival.

My prayer is for the same.

1. Leadership of our country.

2. Leaders of our town.

3. Leaders of our homes.

4. Leaders of our church.

The same way God answered Solomon’s prayer, He will answer ours. What can we do for revival? We can do four things and He will do three things.

I. We Must Humble Ourselves

1. Proverbs 16:18, Proverbs 1:7, God says the first step of me healing is our humility.

2. The Hebrew word for humble means to bend the knee, to be subdued, to be conquered.

3. You need to make up your mind who is going to be God over me. Colossians 3:16

4. It is coming in the presence of God, recognizing He is God, He is creator.

5. I realize I had been running my own life, living without any regard as to what God would want me to do or be.

6. My will bends to His will. Have you ever done that? Romans 14:7-11

7. Matthew 5:3, we must humble ourselves.

II. We Must Pray

1. Ten different words in Hebrew language for prayer and each one has a different meaning.

2. The word here is the word that means to intercede on the behalf of someone else.

3. If my people will pray for others, then He will hear from heaven.

4. Isaiah 59:1-4

5. Paul says as Christians, we ought to pray for kings and all people in authority.

6. Have you been praying for our country? For our leaders? Church family?

7. We would be amazed if we knew all the heartaches here with us.

8. Did you know it is a sin not to pray for others? 1 Samuel 12:23

a. It is the reason so many things are wrong in our world today.

b. I wonder what would happen if our people would not act until they have asked God’s blessing and guidance on them.

c. God’s people have been doing everything but praying.

9. God said, “If my people will submit, yield, hands off and pray for others, I will hear from heaven and forgive their sin and heal their land.”

III. We Must Seek God’s Face

1. There is a difference between praying and seeking the Lord’s face.

2. Praying is when I am asking God to bless, give wisdom and guidance or whatever to another.

3. Seeking God’s face means I come to God and seek His approval on my life.

4. I pray about my daily living.

a. My business actions.

b. My home life.

c. I ask God, “Can you approve of this thing or that thing.”

5. What this means is I keep altering and changing things I my life until God does approve.

6. Do you have this today? If you were to take a piece of paper and write down everything you remember about your daily life.

7. I wonder how much of our daily business makes God sick.

IV. We Must Turn from Our Wicked Ways

1. If my people, Christians, will turn form their wicked ways.

2. Not enough to admit our sin, but be convicted of the sin, but turn from our wicked ways.

3. When we seek God’s face, He will reveal our sins. It is then our job to turn from them.

4. The greatest thing we can do for our church, our home, our country, is if you are a Christian, act like one, be one, no body like a phony!

5. I wish I could impress upon you this evening,

6. The Christian is the thermostat that turns on God’s judgment or God’s healing.

7. God said, He would heal the land, our land, which is what He wants to do, His favorite work, healing.
