Introduction

This evening we have come together to worship the Lord.

The reason that Christ enters the city of Jerusalem on Palm Sunday was to present himself as the perfect sacrifice for our sins.

He made this sacrifice so that we might be in him.

To be in him is truly a blessing and there are many blessings being in Christ.

Here is a brief list of some of the blessings for each Christian who is in Christ.

Stand with me this evening as we read from the Holy Scriptures.

Scripture

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,

[4] just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love,

[5] having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will,

[6] to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He has made us accepted in the Beloved.

[7] In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace

[8] which He made to abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence,

[9] having made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He purposed in Himself, Ephesians 1:3-9 (NKJV)

1. In Christ: We are Complete

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus

Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual

blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,

Ephesians 1:3 (NKJV)

We are blessed with all spiritual blessings.

2. In Christ: We are Chosen

Just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of

the world, that we should be holy and without blame

before Him in love, Ephesians 1:4 (NKJV)

We covered this in the morning service and is worth

mentioning again this evening.

Because we are in Christ, we have been chosen to

stand before God as holy and without blame before

him in love.

3. In Christ: We are God’s Child

Having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus

Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure

of His will, Ephesians 1:5 (NKJV)

We are his children and we should have those

characteristics that point to the fact that we are

His children.

4. In Christ: We are Confident

To the praise of the glory of His grace, by which

He has made us accepted in the Beloved. Ephesians

1:6 (NKJV)

We are confident because we have been "accepted in

the beloved."

5. In Christ: We are Cleansed

In Him we have redemption through His blood, the

forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His

grace. Ephesians 1:7 (NKJV)

We have been cleansed and his grace is upon us.

6. In Christ: We are wise in His Word

Which He made to abound toward us in all wisdom and

prudence, Ephesians 1:8 (NKJV)

We are wise in his Word, not by osmosis but by

daily studying his Word and hiding his Word in our

hearts.

7. In Christ: We are to do His Will

Having made known to us the mystery of His will,

according to His good pleasure, which He purposed

in Himself, Ephesians 1:9 (NKJV)

The will of the Father is that we be Christ like,

which means we are to be disciples and disciple

makers.
