JERUSALEM- WHO IS YOUR FATHER?
Introduction:
We are continuing in our Series about the most mentioned City in the Bible- Jerusalem.
While Jesus was still in Jerusalem, He once again taught the people things that were very controversial. In our text, Jesus talked to the Jews about who their father was.
1. Who is your spiritual father?
When you are speaking about your spiritual father, there are 2 choices- God the Father or Satan. The Jews were claiming that because they were in the family line of Abraham, they were automatically in God’s family. Jesus gives us characteristics of people whose Father is God and who father is Satan.
Satan’s children…
* Do his work.
Satan’s children…
* Hate Jesus.
God’s children…
* Have faith in God like Abraham did.
God’s children…
* Love Jesus.
2. What spiritual language do you speak?
Jesus asked them why His language was not clear to them; and then He gave them the answer- They did not speak His language.
Satan’s language is…
* Lying.
God’s language is…
* Truth.
3. Will you die spiritually?
The final destination of Satan’s children is…
* Hell.
Jesus says that whoever obeys His Word will never die. That means that those who do not obey His Word will die spiritually.
The final destination of God’s children is…
* Heaven.
