This sermon explores the transformative power of prayer and Jesus' role as our intercessor, emphasizing the spiritual transaction that occurs in our communication with God.

Introduction

Greetings, beloved family in Christ. Today, we stand on the edge of an awe-inspiring vista of truth, ready to bask in the radiant light of God's Word. We are gathered here not by accident, but by divine appointment. Our hearts are prepared, our spirits are eager, and our minds are open to the transformative power of the Holy Scriptures.

In our hands, we hold the living Word of God, ready to reveal to us the profound mystery of Jesus' intercession, the hushed whispers of prayer, and the dynamic energy that prayer unleashes in our lives. We will not just skim the surface of these truths; we will plunge into their depths, immersing ourselves in the richness of God's wisdom and love.

The revered preacher Charles Spurgeon once said, "True prayer is neither a mere mental exercise nor a vocal performance. It is far deeper than that - it is spiritual transaction with the Creator of Heaven and Earth." This spiritual transaction, dear friends, is what we are about to discuss today.

Now, let us bow our heads and open our hearts in prayer. Gracious Father, we thank You for the gift of Your Word, a lamp to our feet and a light to our path. As we open our hearts to the timeless truths within its pages, we ask for Your Holy Spirit to guide us and illuminate our understanding. May we not only hear Your Word today, but may we also apply it in our lives, that we may be transformed into the likeness of Your Son, Jesus Christ. In His precious name we pray, amen.

Jesus' Intercession - Our Foundation

In the heart of the Scripture, we find a profound truth - Jesus, our Savior, lives to intercede for us. He is always there, standing in the gap for us, advocating for us, and presenting our needs to the Father. This is a truth that brings comfort and assurance, knowing that we are not alone in our struggles and challenges. Jesus, the one who knows us intimately, is there for us, interceding on our behalf.

The intercession of Jesus is a powerful act of love. It is a demonstration of His deep care and concern for us. He is not a distant Savior, but one who is intimately involved in our lives. He knows our needs, our desires, our fears, and our hopes. And He takes all these to the Father, pleading on our behalf.

The intercession of Jesus is also a testament to His divine nature. As the Son of God, He has the authority to stand before the Father on our behalf. He is our mediator, our high priest, the one who bridges the gap between us and God. His intercession is not just an act of love, but also an act of divine authority. He is the only one who can intercede for us, because He is the only one who is both fully God and fully man.

The intercession of Jesus also carries a promise - the promise of salvation. He is able to save completely those who come to God through Him. This is a promise that brings hope and assurance. No matter what we are going through, no matter how deep our sins or how great our struggles, we can have the assurance of salvation through Jesus. His intercession is not just an act of love and authority, but also a promise of salvation.

Finally, the intercession of Jesus is a call to action. It is a call for us to come to God through Him. It is a call to trust in His love, to rely on His authority, to hold on to His promise, and to respond to His call.
