Summary: Youngest kings who ruled Judah was Josiah. He was only 8 years old when he was anointed as king of Judah but his kingdom and rule was not a failure.

1) JOSIAH WAS 8 YEARS OLD WHEN HE BECAME KING:

- Age is not important when God wants to use a person

- To be used by God, we should have a humble spirit

- Giving our lives for His service at a very young age is well pleasing to God

- When someone takes up a position at a very young age, we undermine them thinking that they may not know how to deal with things because of their age. But here it cancels all our myths saying that even at young age a person could become a role model for good leadership.

2) HE REIGNED IN JERUSALEM 31 YEARS:

- 31 years is not a short time. When we are faithful to God at our work and also if God's favour is upon us, our success sustains for long time. We can be a blessing to people for a longer time.

- The main reason for his successful rule is because of what is described in Verse 2.

3) HE DID WHAT WAS RIGHT IN THE EYES OF THE LORD:

- First reason for his successful rule is doing right in the eyes of God. Doing right things in the eyes of God is more important than doing things which are right in our own eyes. The way we look at things is quite different from the way God sees. We must have the eyes of God.

4) FOLLOWED THE WAYS OF HIS FATHER KING DAVID, NOT TURNING ASIDE TO THE RIGHT OR TO THE LEFT:

- The second reason for his successful rule is following his father David the king of Israel.

- We all know that king David was a successful king at all times! But does it mean that he did not have any failures? David did have many failures in his life but they were not the end of his journey of success.

- Did Josiah followed king David in everything? Not not at all. He did not follow David's negative side of life but only the positive side of life. We can follow someone but follow only the good things they do, not the bad side of their life.

- Maturity is to appreciate and follow the positive things of people not the negative side of their lives.
