Youth Sermon: Passion

Introduction

Today, we're chatting about the rhythms in our lives - the good, the bad, and the ugly. We're gonna talk about how to keep our fire for Jesus and the Church burning bright, no matter what.

Imagine a candle. When you first light it, the flame is strong and bright. But if you don't take care of it, the flame can flicker and die out. Our passion for Jesus is like that flame. We need to keep it burning strong.

Our passion for Jesus is like that flame. We need to keep it burning strong.

Fight the Good Fight

First, Paul says he fought the good fight. This means he was in a spiritual battle. He faced some tough stuff, but he didn't let anything stop him from loving Jesus. We need to keep our eyes on Jesus, no matter what comes our way.

Finish the Race

Next, Paul talks about finishing the race. God wants us to run this race of faith, but it's not always gonna be easy. Jesus promised we'd have trouble in this world, but He also promised to be with us. We can keep going by staying connected to God, our strength and safe place.

Keep the Faith

Finally, Paul says he kept the faith. This means he stayed true to God, no matter what. We gotta do the same, even when life gets tough. Our ultimate goal is heaven, and we gotta keep going to get there.

Conclusion

So, how do we keep our fire burning for Jesus? We gotta stay connected to Him. Read your Bible, pray, and hang out with other believers. And when life gets tough, remember Paul's words: Fight the good fight, finish the race, keep the faith.

Let's pray. Jesus, help us keep our fire burning for you. Give us the strength to fight the good fight, finish the race, and keep the faith. Help us to stay passionate about you and the Church, no matter what comes our way. In your name, amen.
