Summary: There are many things that the blood of Jesus gives us in our lives.

POWER OF THE BLOOD

Text: Matthew 26: 27 & 28

Then He took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. For this is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

Intro:

Jesus had gathered his disciples together for the Last Supper. As these men gather around him, he holds up the cup and begins to explain that his blood is the New Covenant and that his blood is sufficient. The sacrifices and the blood of goats and bulls did not meet the requirements for the fulfilling of the law, HIS BLOOD IS SUFFICIENT. This is what He was talking about when he said that He had come to fulfill the law not do away with it.

Matthew 5:17

Do not think that I came to destroy the law, or the prophets: I did not come to destroy, but to fulfill.

Jesus, in one selfless loving act would do what no other sacrifice had been able to do. That is to begin a new covenant with the God of Creation. Through this blood covenant, if we believe we can receive.....

1. REDEMPTION

Galatians 3:13

13 Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree” ),

1 Peter 1:18-19

18 knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers, 19 but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.

2. TRANSFORMATION

Hebrews 9:14

14 how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

2 Corinthians 5:17

17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

3. HEALING

Isaiah 53:5

5 But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.

4. DELIVERANCE

Galatians 5:1

1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage

5. VICTORY

1 Corinthians 15:54-57

54 So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: “Death is swallowed up in victory.” 55“O Death, where is your sting? O Hades, where is your victory?”

56 The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law. 57 But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Conclusion:

The blood represents many things in our lives. Jesus made the ultimate sacrifice for the sins of the world, so that we can have the blessed hope.
