Summary: The word of God is quick and powerful.. It is sharper than any two edged sword. The word of God is his will. When we pray the word of God, we pray his will for our lives.

Prayer is the heart cry of man to God. It is believers communicating with thier father and getting a response from him. When we pray according to God's will, he answers and grants our petitions. When we however pray amiss we may not get what we desire.

James 4 vs 3 says: "Ye ask and receive not because ye ask amiss that ye may consume it upon your lust. "

A call to prayer.

God desires that we pray unto him because he hears the prayer of the righteous (Proverb 15 vs 29b). He demands that we should ask, seek and knock (Matthew 7 vs 7). He said we should call upon him in the day of trouble and he will deliver us (Psalm 50 vs 15).

How can a believer pray right?

We can pray the right way by praying the word of God. His word is infallible. His word is his will. All we ever need to survive on earth is in the word of God.

Whatever he says he will do, he does and when we take his word back to him in prayer, he is bound to answer.

God says in Isaiah 55 vs 11: "so shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth, it shall not return to me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it." The word of God will not be void in your life. It will prosper according to his will in Jesus name.

If you desire anything from God and you want to pray according to his will, you should:

1. Search out the word of God concerning that need and remind him about his word. He is bound to answer. The promises of God abound in the scriptures. Study the word, extract the promise and cry unto God with it.

2. Ensure you are right with God. He does not hear the prayers of sinners. Confess you sins and ask for forgiveness and forgive others that have hurt you in any way. This paves the way for a fruitful communication with God. Remember that the blood of Jesus cleanse us from all sins.

3. Pray with a fervent spirit for the effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much (James 5 vs 16).

As you call upon him from a fervent heart, the Lord will hear and answer your prayers in Jesus name.
