PROPHETIC FUNDAMENTALS

THE PROPHETIC GIFTING

Therefore, brethren, desire earnestly to prophesy…1 Corinthians 14:39

The Lord desires each and every one of us to grow in our spiritual gifting. But we have to be in agreement with Him in order to receive what He has for us. The work of salvation has been fully completed by Jesus, but we have to respond by faith in order to receive it.

The same applies to the prophetic anointing. It is a free gift but we need to receive it. Be hungry for a greater level of the anointing because you know deep down in your heart that there is more. Continue to press in believing that you can receive the fullness as the Lord promised.

Spend time in prayer and fasting and God will begin to expand your prophetic ability.

The prophetic anointing brings great clarity and focus on God’s vision and heart for a church, a city, and for the nations.

For I long to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual gift, so that you may be established. - Romans 1:11

Prophets are able to see and hear directly from God and are divine channels that open portals in the Spirit. Their words are divinely sanctioned by God and anointed by the Holy Spirit. God has commissioned them to impart the prophetic anointing to the body of Christ in these last days.

They are called to stir up the prophetic Spirit in each believer.

Jesus wants to communicate with His church and has things He wants to tell us today by way of the Holy Spirit.

Prophetic words from other people should not be a substitute for hearing God for ourselves. We must develop a personal relationship with God as we begin to grow in the prophetic anointing.

It is God’s desire for us to communicate with Him and to discern His voice in whatever way He chooses to speak to us. There are times when God gives us prophetic revelation as a result of us spending time with Him that otherwise would not have come.

Developing our prophetic anointing comes as we develop our relationship with Jesus. As we draw aside from our busy lives and spend time with God and ask Him to speak to us, we will hear His voice more and more clearly.

The prophetic anointing is powered by love. Prophecy is an outflowing of growing closer to God and developing a relationship of intimacy with Him. It is one of the ways in which God speaks to us today.

God chose us to have fellowship with Him before the world was even formed. We need to walk in the understanding that God loves us and the very reason for our existence is to fellowship with Him.

God longs to communicate with His children. He specifically created us with ears to hear His voice.

The hearing ear and the seeing eye, the Lord has made them both. - Proverbs 20: 12

Any successful and loving relationship must by its very nature be a two-way communication.

God longs for an intimate relationship with each one of us. He is interested in everything we do. God is not an absentee father. He will always be available for us.

God desires to share His plans and purposes with us so that we will be fully prepared and fully equipped to fulfill our destiny. He never created us to wander around aimlessly through life.

God has created us for a specific purpose. We are all special and unique and each one of us has a distinct calling and destiny in God.

We are not simply called to fill pews and listen to sermons. Each one of us is called to help build the Kingdom of God through our words and deeds. Each one of us has a very specific role to play in God's divine purposes.
