To be sure, there are so many reasons we can and should praise our Lord God.

In this verse, the apostle Paul reminds of 3 important reasons to praise to God.

First, he tells us to….

1. Praise God because He is the Father of JESUS.

-The Bible tells us about the birth of Jesus. (Mt. 1:18)

-The Bible teaches us of the deity of Jesus. Jn 3:16

2. Praise God because He is the Father of MERCIES.

Mercy is the “compassionate forbearance toward the guilty.”

The Bible says God is “ever merciful.” Ps 37:26

-God is GREAT in mercy. Ps 108:3-4

-God is RICH in mercy. Eph 2:4

-God is ABUNDANT in mercy. I Pet 1:3

-God’s mercies are ETERNAL. Ps 100:5

Thank God for His Mercies!

3. Praise God because He is the God of all COMFORT.

Comforter is “one who comes alongside another to console.”

(Akin to “Consolation, exhortation, encouragement)

Text…. God is the “God of all comfort.”

Bible says God “comforteth us in all our tribulation.” 2 Cor 1:4

-We are comforted through the SCRIPTURES. Rom 15:4

-We are comforted by the HOLY SPIRIT. Jn 14:16

-We are comforted together in ASSEMBLY. I Thess 5:11

The songwriter spoke of the Comforter….

“O spread the tidings 'round, wherever man is found,

Wherever human hearts and human woes abound;

Let ev'ry Christian tongue proclaim the joyful sound:

The Comforter has come!

The Comforter has come, the Comforter has come!

The Holy Ghost from Heav'n, the Father's promise giv'n;

O spread the tidings 'round, wherever man is found.

The Comforter has come!”

In closing …. May God bless you - as you give Him glory and praise!
