VIII. MAIN BODY:

A. Better is the little of the righteous

"Better is the little that the [uncompromisingly] righteous have"

Proverbs 23:4 (Amplified Bible)

Weary not yourself to be rich; cease from your own [human] wisdom.

It's not profitable to work for money and how much more to work to be rich, working to be rich does not come from wisdom even from human wisdom, it's just there to weary yourself out.

Deuteronomy 5:33 (Amplified Bible)

You shall walk in all the ways which the Lord your God has commanded you, that you may live and that it may go well with you and that you may live long in the land which you shall possess.

On the other hand, the one who is living in GOD, lives long without weariness and the land they will possess by GOD's help.

Better in the Bible is when:

1. Little with fear of the LORD

Proverbs 15:16 (Amplified Bible)

Better is little with the reverent, worshipful fear of the Lord than great and rich treasure and trouble with it.

2. Dry morsel with quietness

Proverbs 17:1 (Amplified Bible)

BETTER IS a dry morsel with quietness than a house full of feasting [on offered sacrifices] with strife.

Ecclesiastes 4:6 (Amplified Bible)

Better is a handful with quietness than both hands full with painful effort, a vain striving after the wind and a feeding on it.

3. Little with righteousness

Proverbs 16:8 (Amplified Bible)

Better is a little with righteousness (uprightness in every area and relation and right standing with God) than great revenues with injustice.

4. Little wealth

Psalms 37:16 (Amplified Bible)

Better is the little that the [uncompromisingly] righteous have than the abundance [of possessions] of many who are wrong and wicked.

5. Dinner of herbs with love

Proverbs 15:17 (Amplified Bible)

Better is a dinner of herbs where love is than a fatted ox and hatred with it.

Better in the Bible is different from the world's better. Better in the Bible means, you have fear of the LORD, quietness, righteousness, love, etc. Try buying those with your money

B. The wicked's abundance is wrong

"than the abundance [of possessions] of many who are wrong and wicked"

Ecclesiastes 2:26 (Amplified Bible)

For to the person who pleases Him God gives wisdom and knowledge and joy; but to the sinner He gives the work of gathering and heaping up, that he may give to one who pleases God. This also is vanity and a striving after the wind and a feeding on it.

Proverbs 30:9 (Amplified Bible)

Lest I be full and deny You and say, Who is the Lord? Or lest I be poor and steal, and so profane the name of my God.

Proverbs 16:8 (Amplified Bible)

Better is a little with righteousness (uprightness in every area and relation and right standing with God) than great revenues with injustice.

1 Timothy 6:6 (Amplified Bible)

[And it is, indeed, a source of immense profit, for] godliness accompanied with contentment (that contentment which is a sense of inward sufficiency) is great and abundant gain.

The secret of enjoying wealth is to please GOD, GOD who owns the wealth of this world always provides more than enough.

IX. CONCLUSION:

Proverbs 11:4 (Amplified Bible)

Riches provide no security in any day of wrath and judgment, but righteousness (uprightness and right standing with God) delivers from death.
