Summary: Sermon on the perseverance of the saints
RUN BABY RUN!
1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
In the gospel in hymns, published in 1950, is a story about Philip Brooks, author of “O Little Town of Bethlehem”: One April fools day, Brooks saw a boy on Boylston Street in Boston trying to reach a doorbell. Brooks walked up the steps and said, “Let me help you, my little man!” He pushed the button; the boy scampered down the steps, saying, “Now run like crazy!”
We are not running wildly in every direction. However,

Luke 8:13 They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word-with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of-temptation fall away.
