Summary: God can Do anything but fail.

For in our text Paul declares in 2 Cor 1: 18-22 "as God is true our word towards you was not yea and nay for the Son of God, Jesus Christ who was preached among you by us even by me and Silas and Timothy was not yea or nay. For all the promises of God are yea and in him Amen."

The passage asserts that Paul’s message and lifestyle were based on truth, Jesus himself in his prayer to the father for the disciples in John 17:17 said sanctify them by the truth your word is the truth. (tell story about situation at Corinth verse 17 )Therefore, Paul is saying they had integrity. Integrity is the characteristic of consistency or “what you see is what you get.” The apostle insists that the Gospel is not two faced, trying to be yes and no at the same time. The truth about Jesus doesn’t change with every shift of the breeze. Why? Because it is based on the faithfulness of God’s promises that are always affirmed and fulfilled in Jesus! Somebody say amen! For the bible says that Jesus is the same yesterday, to day and forevermore. The bible says that God does not change. So we who are believers can take our stand with security. We say AMEN to God’s message knowing that it won’t change on us. Amen is not an empty word. AMEN says we believe that there is truth. God’s Word is true and that it is the foundation of our faith. Amen says—it is true. For in Rev. 3:14 Jesus calls himself the Amen the faithful and true witness. Amen says God said it We believe it and that settles it Amen. We pledge our obedience to it. When we hear a promise of God’s Word and we say Amen, we are laying claim to that promise. It is ours. We are going to live as if it were already real. If it is the promise of God, it shall be done. Somebody say amen!

Amen is a statement of faith and hope.

Amen then is a statement of confidence in God. When we hear the truth of God’s word declared and we agree with it. When we pray, we can conclude with a firm AMEN because we are confident our prayer has been heard, our God is at work, and the best response to our petition is already in the making. Somebody say Amen

For when we say Amen we are saying Lord we agree! We agree with your will and your ways Amen. We agree that you are God and besides thee there is none other. Amen. We agree with your statues and your precept for the bible says “that your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path” Amen. We agree that you formed and you fashion and you created everything that was created for the bible says in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Amen We agree that the earth is the lords and the fullness there of.

Somebody say Amen!

1st point: Get My head around my Amen

a. I need an intellectual understanding of what thus says the lord, if Amen means to agree, then I can’t agree with something I don’t know. We have to study I have to get this word in my head. That’s why Paul said “don’t be conformed to this world but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind that you may be able to prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” Notice what the Psalmist says “Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of the sinner, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; but his delight is in the law of the Lord and in his law he meditates both day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season whose leaf also shall not wither and whatsoever he does shall prosper.” I’ve got to get my head around my Amen

b. Brother Joshua can you help me out what did God tell you. “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it both day and night that you may observe to do all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.

c. Paul told Timothy “study to show thy self approved a worker who needs not be ashamed rightly dividing the word of truth.”

d. I’ve got to get my head around my Amen I’ve got to search the scriptures for in them I find truth. John 7:38 Jesus says "He who believes in me as the scriptures has said out of his heart will flow rivers of living water." Somebody say Amen
