Summary: Ask, Knock, seek. Prayer and our lives.

Today, we gather to reflect on a profound and encouraging verse from the Gospel according to Matthew, chapter 7, verse 7, where Jesus imparts to us timeless wisdom: "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you."

In these simple yet profound words, our Lord reveals to us a fundamental principle of our faith: the power of prayer. Prayer is not merely a ritualistic act or a set of words repeated in vain. It is a heartfelt communication with the Almighty, a direct line to the Creator of the universe.

"Ask, and it will be given to you." These words hold a promise of divine generosity. Our God is a God of abundant grace and unfailing love. When we approach Him with sincere hearts and present our requests, He listens attentively. He does not always give us exactly what we ask for, but He gives us what we truly need, according to His perfect wisdom and plan.

"Seek, and you will find." Our faith journey is a continuous search for God, for understanding, for purpose, and for fulfillment. As we seek God earnestly, in prayer and in life, He reveals Himself to us. He opens our hearts and minds to the beauty of His creation, the richness of His Word, and the depth of His love.

"Knock, and it will be opened to you." Knocking implies persistence and determination. It's about not giving up, even when we face challenges or obstacles. When we knock on God's door with persistence and faith, He responds. He opens the door of His grace, His mercy, and His presence to us.

Dear friends, Jesus invites us into a relationship of trust and faith through prayer. He encourages us to be persistent and fervent in our prayers, confident that our Heavenly Father hears us and responds according to His perfect will. Let us, therefore, approach our prayer life with faith, persistence, and sincerity. Let us ask for what we need, seek God with all our hearts, and knock on the door of His mercy and grace. For our Father in heaven is eager to embrace us, to reveal Himself to us, and to shower us with His blessings.

May the promise of prayer in Matthew 7:7 inspire and encourage us as we continue our faith journey, seeking the presence and will of our gracious God.

Amen.
