Seventh Commandment:

Thou Shall not Commit Adultery Ex 20:14

This commandment prohibits all unlawful sexual relationship and upholds the sacredness and divine appointment of marriage for the propagation and multiplication of the human race. Thou shall not commit adultery because…

1. Our God is Holy (I Pet. 1:15-16)

Our religion is very unique, talks about holiness of God and the worshipers. Very exceptional religion calls us to practice holiness every activities of our life. Our Bible is very openly talks about the sexual cleanliness, illegal relationships and the forbidden activities.

Regarding adultery both the man and woman to suffer death penalty(Lev.18:20, 20:10, Dt. 22:22). There are eighteen kinds of incest recorded in these passage (Read: Lev, 18:6-18, 20:17-21, Dt. 22:30, 27:20-23).

God hates the offertory of the adulterer (Mal. 2:15-16), He kept them for hell because of their eyes (II Pet 2:14 & Job 24:15, Mt 5:27). Bible is not against the widow remarriage but when husband is alive no one is allowed to marry (Rm. 7:3).

2. Our body is Temple of God. (I Cor. 6:19).

God has created us in His own image and in his own likeness (Gen1:26-27). Our body is not mere flesh – it is made of many faculties of thinking, desire, sensations. Organs such as heads, hands, legs, nose and etc. God has created us just like him.

Jesus moved on the earth as a temple of God (Jn. 2:21). Jesus was able to heal many not because he came as the son of God because he lived a holy life, he kept his body as sacred temple, so anybody who touched him became healed. Whatever touched his body became holy.

We are bought by God for a purpose, we are no more our own, we live under the influence of God and His spirit (I Cor.6:20). We are slave to Christ and not to the world, not to the evil. The lust of the eyes, lust of the flesh are of the creations of the world when the world came under the control of the Satanic forces.(I Jn.2:15-17)

Peter when he walked his shadow touched many and healed them all (Ac 5:15-16). Paul’s hankies had power to heal the people (Ac 19:11-12). The priests legs touched the Jordan river and the water stopped( Josh. 3:15-16), The holy body does miracle even after the death (II Ki. 13:20-21). God has blessed your hands (Mk 16:17-18).

3. Marriage is Honorable. (Heb 13:4).

Duties of the Husbands:

Love your wives (Eph 5:25,28,33, Col 3:9), Adam said you are my bone of bones and the flesh of flesh(Gen 2:23), live with wife (Gen. 2:24), make merry of your wife (Dt. 24:5), rejoice with your wife of the youth(Pr 5:18), Enjoy life with your wife(Eccl 9:9). Live with them with wisdom(I Pet 3:7)

Duties of the wives:

Watches over the affairs of the husband(Pr 31:27), wife must not separate from her husband(I Cor. 7:10). Rebecca comforted Isaac in the place of his mother(Gen 24:67). Submit to your husband (Eph 5:22, Col 3:18, I Pet 3:1)

Let no man separate what God has joined(Mk 10:9).
