Sing Unto the Lord a New Song

Psalms 105: 1/6

Once my soul was astray from the heavenly way, and was wretched and vile as could be. But the Savior above gave me peace joy and love, when He reached down His hand for me.

I was lost in sin but Jesus rescued me, He’s a wonderful Savior to me; I was bound by fear but Jesus set me free, He’s a wonderful savior to me. He’s a friend so true, so patient and so kind, and everything I need in Him I always find He’s a wonderful Savior to me.

Oft times the day seems long, our trials hard to bear; we’re tempted to complain, to murmur and despair. But Christ will soon appear, to catch his church away. All tears forever over, in God’s eternal day. It will be worth it all, when we see Jesus. Life’s trails will seem so mall, when we see Christ.

I remember when my burdens rolled away, I had carried them for years night and day; when I sought the blessed Lord, and I took Him at His word, then at once all my burdens rolled away. It took a miracle to put the stars in place; it took a miracle to hang the world in space. But when He saved my soul, cleansed and made me whole, it took a miracle of love and grace.

Wonderful grace of Jesus, greater than all my sin, how shall my tongue describe it? Where shall its praise begin? Taking away my burden, setting my spirit free, for the wonderful grace of Jesus reaches me.

I must tell Jesus all of my trials; I cannot bear thee burdens alone; in my distress He kindly will help me; He ever loves and cares for His own. Many things about tomorrow, I don’t seem to understand; but I know who holds tomorrow, and I know who holds my hand.

You ask me why I am happy so I’ll just tell you why, because my sins are gone; And when I meet the scoffers who ask me where they are, I say, my sins are gone.

They’re underneath the Blood, on the Cross of Calvary, as far removed as darkness is from dawn; in the sea of God’s forgetfulness, that’s good enough for me praise God, my sins are gone.

So, magnify the Lord with me, blessed Lamb of Calvary, for His grace so rich and free, magnify the Lord with me. I will sing of my Redeemer and His wondrous love to me; on the cruel cross He suffered, from the curse to set me free.

To be free from the curse and the sting of death is real freedom.

Once like a bird in prison I dwelt, no freedom from my sorrow I felt, but Jesus came and listened to me. And glory to God, He set me free. I’m free from the fear of tomorrow, free from the guilt of the past. I’ve traded my shackles for a glorious song, and I’m free praise the Lord free at last.

Ever since Jesus saved and pardoned I have been singing every day. I’ve never been sorry, that I trusted His name. Thru the dark shadows He is with me, leading me on the upward way I’ve never been sorry praise the Lord, that I trusted His name.

I’m glad Jesus came, glory to His name, O what a friend is He; He so freely gave His own life to save, from bonds of sin set free. I’ve got that old time religion in my heart. It’s now way down inside. It’s really surprising what the Lord can do. He can make a lost sinner, just as good as new. And if you will let him, He’ll pardon you; it’s really surprising what the Lord can do.

What a wonderful change in my life has been wrought, since Jesus came into my heart; I have light in my soul for which long I had sought, since Jesus came into my heart.

Let me walk, blessed Lord in the path Thou hast trod, leading straight to the land above. Giving cheer everywhere to the sad and the lone, fill my way every day with love, let me go all the while, with a song and a smile, fill my way every day with love.

Jesus has a table spread where the saints of God are fed, He invites His chosen people, come and dine. With His manna He doth feed, and supplies our every need; O ‘tis sweet to sup with Jesus all the time.

Come you sinners lost and lonely, Jesus’s blood can make you free, for He saved the worst among you, when He saved a wretch like me. Sometimes I feel discouraged, and think my life in vain, I’m tempted oft to murmur, to grumble and complain; but when I think of Jesus, and all He’s done for me. Then I cry, O Rock of Ages, Hide Thou me.
