Psalm 149 Singing Saints

1. The Sovereign - 1 Praise ye the Lord.

2. The Song - 1 Sing unto the Lord a new song,

A Song of Revelation - Rev. 5:9 And they sung a new song, saying,

Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof:

A Song of Redemption - for thou wast slain,

A Song of Reclamation - and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood

A Song of Restoration - out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;

3. The Saints - 1 and his praise in the congregation of saints.

Their Satisfaction - 2 Let Israel rejoice in him that made him:

let the children of Zion be joyful in their King.

In God's Intervention - 2 Let Israel rejoice in him

A Revelation of Deity, Duty (Rejoice) and Destiny (him that made him)

In God's Interaction - 2 in him that made him:

He Created them, Called them, Cleansed them, and Claimed them.

In God's Intercession - 2 let the children of Zion be joyful in their King

Their King is -

Immortal, Immutable, Immovable, Immeasurable, and Immense.

Their Celebration - 3 Let them praise his name in the dance:

let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp.

The Reason - 3 Let them praise his name

The Response - in the dance:

The Respect - let them sing praises unto him

The Resolve - with the timbrel and harp.

Their Salvation - 4 For the Lord taketh pleasure in his people:

he will beautify the meek with salvation.

It's Source - 4 For the Lord,

It's Secret - taketh pleasure

It's Subject - in his people:

It's Supply - he will beautify the meek

It's Security - with salvation.

It's Sincerity - 5 Let the saints be joyful in glory:

It's Serenity - let them sing aloud upon their beds.

Their Separation

Their Song - 6 Let the high praises of God be in their mouth,

Their Sword - and a twoedged sword in their hand;

Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Revelation 1:16 And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp twoedged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength.

Their Sentence - 7 to execute vengeance upon the heathen, punishments upon the people;

Their Significance - 8 to bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron;

Their Service - 9 to execute upon them the judgment written: this honour have all his saints

Their Sovereign - Praise ye the Lord.
