Their's Was a ;-

Common Cause 6 And Moses said unto the children of Gad and to the children of Reuben, Shall your brethren go to war, and shall ye sit here?

Common Compromise 1 Now the children of Reuben and the children of Gad had a very great multitude of cattle: and when they saw the land of Jazer, and the land of Gilead, that, behold, the place was a place for cattle;

Common Consequence 7 And wherefore discourage ye the heart of the children of Israel from going over into the land which the LORD hath given them?

II. Sin's Grief Will Catch You 1. Sin affects our HEALTH

A. Because of sin we die (Rom. 5:12;) Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

B. Because of sin we disobey (Adam and Eve)

C. Because of sin we doubt (1 Cor. 13:12) For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

D. Because of sin we destroy Gen 6 v 5 And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.6 And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart. 2. Sin affects our HOME

Example: David

His sin: 2 Samuel 11:27 And when the mourning was past, David sent and fetched her to his house, and she became his wife, and bare him a son. But the thing that David had done displeased the LORD.

What happened: 2 Sam. 12:14-15, Howbeit, because by this deed thou hast given great occasion to the enemies of the LORD to blaspheme, the child also that is born unto thee shall surely die. 15 And Nathan departed unto his house. And the LORD struck the child that Uriah’s wife bare unto David, and it was very sick. 3. Sin affects our HAPPINESS

Psalm 51:12 Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.

John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

4. Sin affects our HEART

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Isaiah 59:2 But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.

5. Sin affects our HEREAFTER John 14:1-3

First of all, they think they can conceal their sin. But secondly, they think they can escape judgment. They really believe they can get away with it. Ps. 10:13: Wherefore doth the wicked contemn God? he hath said in his heart, Thou wilt not require it.

This verse does not say, "Be sure your crime will find you out." It says, "Be sure your sin will find you out."
