This sermon explores how God's enduring strength and love guide us to perceive small victories, view enemies positively, and progress towards spiritual victory.

Introduction

Welcome, beloved brothers and sisters, to this gathering of hearts and minds, united in our shared love for our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We gather here, not as strangers passing in the night, but as a family, bound together by the unbreakable ties of faith and fellowship. We are here to uplift one another, to strengthen our resolve, and to seek a deeper understanding of the Word of God.

Today, we turn our attention to the Book of Deuteronomy, specifically chapter 20, verse 4. The Word of God says, "For the LORD your God is the one who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies to give you victory." This passage, though concise, is a powerful testament to the enduring strength, the unwavering commitment, and the boundless love of our God.

Perceiving Progress in Small Victories

In our walk with God, we often find ourselves in situations where we feel overwhelmed, where the challenges we face seem insurmountable. It's in these moments that we must remember that our God is a God of victories, no matter how small they may seem. Every step forward, every obstacle overcome, every moment of growth, is a victory in God's eyes.

The Scripture reminds us that God is the one who fights for us, who stands with us in the face of our enemies. But who are these enemies? They are not just physical adversaries. They can be doubts, fears, insecurities, or any other negative thoughts and emotions that hinder our spiritual growth.

When we face these enemies, we must remember that every battle won, no matter how small, is a step towards victory. It's easy to overlook these small victories, to dismiss them as insignificant. But in God's eyes, there is no victory too small. Every victory is a testament to His power, His love, and His faithfulness.

Now, let's take a closer look at the Scripture. When God says He goes with us to fight for us against our enemies, He is not just talking about physical battles. In these battles, it's easy to feel like we are losing, like we are being overwhelmed. But God reminds us that He is with us, fighting for us. And every time we resist temptation, every time we choose faith over fear, every time we choose love over hate, we are winning a small victory.

These small victories may not seem like much in the grand scheme of things. But they are significant in God's eyes. They are proof of His power working in us, of His love guiding us, of His faithfulness sustaining us. So, let's not dismiss these small victories. Let's not overlook them in our pursuit of bigger, more noticeable victories. Let's celebrate them, for they are proof of God's presence in our lives.
