Have you ever played Jenga? You know, that game where you stack wooden blocks and try to pull them out without making the tower fall? It's fun, right? But it's also a bit nerve-wracking. You never know when the whole thing is going to come crashing down.
That's kind of like what it's like to live by the world's values. They're like those shaky Jenga blocks. The world tells us stuff like follow your heart and do whatever makes you happy. But here's the thing, the Bible tells us that our hearts can be tricky and not always trustworthy. And Jesus, He tells us to give up our lives for Him, not just chase after what makes us happy.
The world's values are like a Jenga tower ready to topple over.
The world's values are inconsistent and they don't line up with what the Bible teaches. And the worst part? They're super tempting. It's easy to want to believe in them because they sound good and they fit with what we want.
But we've got a secret weapon: the Holy Spirit. Jesus gave us the Holy Spirit to guide us into all truth. When we let Him lead, we get to experience the best life possible. It's not always easy, but it's so worth it.
So, what's it going to be? Are you going to keep playing Jenga with the world's values, or are you going to let the Holy Spirit guide you into truth? Let's make a commitment to read the Bible every day and follow the Spirit's lead.
Let's pray: God, help us to recognize the false truths of the world. They're tempting, but we know they're not solid like Your Word. Give us the strength to follow Your Spirit and live by Your truth. Amen.
