The End Of The Beginning

Summary: About the End of the Finished Work being our beginning as children of God
THE END OF THE BEGINNING
I want us to focus on what is meant when Jesus says: “IT IS FINISHED.”
We could talk about all the prophecy fulfilled!
We could talk about the Law being Fulfilled!
We could preach on the Levitical Priesthood being done away with by the Great High Priest
But I thought of the importance of these words for us today
The immediate impact that the Crucifixion plays in our lives and what Jesus and others had to say about it as our lives are affected.
SO I WANT TO DEAL THIS MORNING ON THE FINISHED WORK!
And Preach on this thought THE END OF THE BEGINNING
There is an End here – Jesus “IT IS FINISHED”
Those words were the END OF HIS WORK that gave A NEW BEGINNING
Thank God there is a New Beginning
I. A NEW WAY - DIRECTION
When a Person gets to Calvary – It changes their Way
It changes their Path
It Changes their Direction
All of this was accomplished by the Finished Work of Christ on the Cross
Heb 10:20
By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;
That word Way – Means a road, A Route, a Journey a Highway, a Path
Thank God when he saved Me – HE CHANGED MY DIRECTION
THERE’S A NEW WAY THAT’S BEEN MADE
NO MORE BLOOD OF GOATS AND CALVES
NO MORE SACRIFICES ON THE ALTAR
NO MORE GOING BEFORE THE PRIEST FOR FORGIVENESS OF SINS
THERE’S A NEW WAY
THERE’S A NEW TESTAMENT
THERE’S A NEW CONVENANT
Heb 9:15 And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by
means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under
the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.
Heb 12:24 And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.
2Co 3:6 Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not
of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.
THERE IS A NEW AND LIVING WAY AND HIS NAME IS JESUS
Joh 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Joh 10:9-10 I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.
The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
Ac 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other
name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
Ro 5:1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God
through our Lord Jesus Christ:
By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
When a Person gets to Calvary – TO THE FINISHED WORK
It changes their Way It changes their Path
It Changes their Direction
THIS WORLD IS HEADED IN THE WRONG DIRECTION
It seems like that everything that used to be wrong is now right and
everything that used to be right is now wrong
The world is going exactly the opposite of what the Bible says
The Bible is headed in the Right Direction so if the World is going contrary to the word of God its headed in the Wrong Direction
The Government World is Headed in the Wrong Direction
The Social World is headed in the Wrong Direction
The Religious World is Headed in the Wrong Direction
Men are Living after their Own Lust
Consumed by Sin
Overwhelmed with Unrighteousness
WE ARE BORN IN THIS WORLD AND FOLLOW AFTER WHAT EVERYONE ELSE IS DOING
Most of the World – Are Empty inside and have no peace – BUT THEY DON’T EVEN KNOW HOW TO CORRECT
Many would change the direction their Headed – BUT THEY DON’T KNOW THE ANSWER
Now Before we start getting puffed up and bow our chest out – We need to rememer that it wasn’t long ago that we were apart of that
1Co 6:9-11 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,
Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.
And such were some of you: BUT YE ARE WASHED, BUT YE ARE SANCTIFIED, BUT YE ARE JUSTIFIED in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.
