Summary: Fear doesn’t have to be a factor in your life when you follow Jesus’ commands! Jesus said, "I will be with you."

The Fear Factor Text: Matthew 28:16-20

Have you watched this reality show called “The Fear Factor?” At least three contestants do these terrible, nasty, fearful games to see which individual can endure. When there is a winner he or she receives $10,000 and the game show host say’s, “Well, (Their name) fear is not a factor with you!”

16 Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had appointed for them. 17 When they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some doubted. 18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.

Introduction: Just as then, so is now. Some worship and some doubt! Things haven’t changed. It’s all about selling out for something higher and greater then you are; it’s all about having a cause; something to believe in! Some here today are suffering with an identity crisis, and the fact is, being and believer and attending church makes it worse because during the week you’re just full of unbelief. This unbelief doesn’t come because of Christ, but because your not stepping out and bearing fruit. It’s called acting on His word!( If we could really just see how we really are!)

One man told his psychiatrist he was having a severe identity crisis he said, “I’m convinced that I am a dog.” When the psychiatrist asked how long he had this problem, he blurted out, “Ever since I was a puppy!”

Some of you are convinced that you cannot fulfill Jesus’ command, so you do nothing! The key to fulfillment is verse 16-17 … Jesus appointed them...How many of you know you have been appointed?) 17). … Some doubted and some worshiped!God say’s, " Worship you way out!"

Do I really think worship is that important? If you can’t really worship Him in here you sure won’t do it out there! Whenever there was a change in a Man or woman in the Bible they bowed, cried, praised, worshiped and responded!

Deuteronomy 8:11-12, 17-18 “Beware that you do not forget the LORD your God by not keeping His commandments, His judgments, and His statutes which I command you today, 12 lest—when you have eaten and are full, and have built beautiful houses and dwell in them; 17 then you say in your heart, ‘My power and the might of my hand have gained me this wealth.’ 18 “And you shall remember the LORD your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day.

#1 God desires full glory and authority through your thoughts and actions! Matthew 28: 18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority (power) has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.

Remember, Jesus has been given all authority in heaven and on earth! How did He heal the sick, deliver the oppressed, open the eyes of the blind? Because He had authority meaning ex-oosee’ah 1849: power, privilege, delegated influence! He and the Father are one; What the Father does; Jesus does! (Jesus wishes full authority in our life!)

#2. God wants us to go! Matthew 28:19-20 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.

He told us to Go you (por-yoo’-Om-ahee) 4198 take a journey and depart! Make disciples, teach and baptize! Jesus said, “I am with you always, even to the end of the age. Amen!

When we follow this command: 1. We will walk in the joy of the Lord. 2. We have Him with us! 3. We are fulfilling what He told us to do. 4. We will have no fear; fear isn’t a factor for the man or woman who follows His commands!

Remember this, with the fingers of Mozart there’s no musical piece you couldn’t play. With the brain of Einstein there’s no mathematical formula you couldn’t unravel. With the life of Christ within you there’s no victory you cannot win!

So who are you? You’re a totally forgiven, fully accepted, deeply loved, and a daily-empowered child of God!

Fear isn’t a factor with you! Say that, " Fear isn’t a factor with me!"
