The Great Exchange

I used to have an old banger of a car. One day as I was driving it, there was an explosion under the hood, and it came to a dead stop. "What do I do now?" I wondered. But, as I looked out of the window I saw that I had stopped beside a showroom and in it was the most beautiful Rolls Royce I’d ever seen. I went over and sat in the driving seat. It was wonderful.

A salesman came over. "Can I help you, sir?" he asked. "Yes, I’d like to exchange my old car for this one." I told him. He looked at my old car outside and said, doubtfully, "We’ll give you £100 in part exchange. The balance to pay is £49,900.". "No! I mean will you do a straight exchange?". He was bemused. He went to see his boss, the General Manager. "But what about the balance of money?" said the salesman. "That’s alright" said the General Manager "I’ll pay the balance. You see, he’s my brother!" So I got into the Rolls Royce and drove off, and the difference was fantastic, unbelievable. I hadn’t know what a real car could be like till now!

St. Paul tells us that, one the Cross, "God took the sinless Christ and poured our sins into Him. The, in exchange, He poured God`s goodness into us". God has always intended us to live like Jesus, to live a Rolls Royce life. Compared with Him, our lives are just like old wrecks. God`s plan is NOT to do a face lift on our old kind of life, but to replace it with something brand new, so that we will be able to say "I didn`t know what life could be like, until now"!
