6-Week Series: Against All Odds

Sermons

Summary: How we need to travel down life's road.

THE HIGHWAY OF LIFE

Isaiah 30: 20 And though the Lord give you the bread of adversity, and the water of affliction, yet shall not thy teachers be removed into a corner any more, but thine eyes shall see thy teachers:

21 And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.

Things change as we travel down lives road.

We never know what to expect.

We can trust the Lord he will never leave us.

We know who holds the future.

(1) Walk with Christ.

Galatians 2: 20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

Salivation by Faith

Fully surrender.

Faithful service.

(2) Travel with the Church.

Ephesians 1: 22 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,

23 Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.

Praise in every service.

Pray for the Holy Spirits power.

Our purpose to win souls.

(3) We must have courage

Acts 28: 15 And from thence, when the brethren heard of us, they came to meet us as far as Appii forum, and The three taverns: whom when Paul saw, he thanked God, and took courage.

To face trials.

To fierce temptation

In fiery troubles

(4) Travel with conviction

Jude: 3 Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.

The wreck of sin

The warning of scripture

The way of the saviour.

(5) Highway with compassion

Jude 23 And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.

Burden for lost

Bright testimony

Burning desire to do more

(6) The road of co-operation.

Ephesians 4: 1 I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,

2 With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;

3 Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

(7) The road to completions.

Revelations 21: 7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.

Stay on the job.

Strength to your fellow Christians.

Be steadfast until the end.
