Summary: CS Lewis observed: if I find in myself a desire which no experience in this world can satisfy, the most probable explanation is that I was made for another world.

The Lie Of Lust. Be Filled.

Colossians 3:23TPT

Lust is a lie, because it comes from the father of lies, satan—The lie is that more sex, more food, more power, more applause, or more money will satisfy our wants and needs. It won’t.

Did you know the scientist have coined a term for this? They call it the hedonic treadmill. Always chasing another rainbow.

Remember this Fact, Those who chase pleasure never stop running.

CS Lewis observed: if I find in myself a desire which no experience in this world can satisfy, the most probable explanation is that I was made for another world.

Don't settle for more sex, don't settle for power, don't settle for fame or fortune.

The remedy for unfruitfulness and unholiness is the resurrection power of the Holy Spirit. According to, Romans 8:11, The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you.

The apostle Paul in Acts 19, asks a very important question to 12 men who followed John the Baptist.

“Have you received the Holy Spirit since you believed?” They answered, we have not.

Acts 19:6NLT Then when Paul laid his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they spoke in other tongues and prophesied.

Today would be the ‘day’ to receive a gift. How many want a free gift? Receive.

In Revelation 12:3-4 the devil is referred to as a dragon. This dragon has seven heads, but I want to give you insight of 3 of his heads.

The dragon of doubt breathes fire, but we have the shield of faith.

We don’t live by logic; we operate by faith, we don't play the victim; we are more than conquerors. We defeat this dragon by not listening to his lies.

How do we tune him out? But making sure that the Holy Spirit is the loudest voice in our lives.

2. The dragon of apathy lulls men to sleep, but we are dreamers by day. We don't fight fire— with fire, we don't stop sinning by not sinning.

We defeat this dragon with a God—given dream that is bigger than fear and better than sin. (Proverbs 29:18)

In today’s text Paul writes in, Colossians 3:23TPT Put your heart and soul into every activity you do, as though you are doing it for the Lord himself and not merely for others.

The only thing that will ultimately satisfy our longing for more, is more God.

3. The dragon of lust and greed. This dragon tells us that more sex, more money, and more applause are what we want, what we need. But lust makes false promises. Instead of fulfilling our desires, lust leaves us feeling empty.

Did you know—According to psychiatrist most ungodly actions begin out of boredom. (No dream, no vision, equals boredom.

This dragon is defeated as we stand on the— promises of God.

I have a theory: The answer to every prayer is more of the Holy Spirit.

Think for a moment, We want more love, more joy, and more peace, but those are the fruit of the spirit. So what we need is more of the Holy Spirit.

Prayer: “Father in Jesus name, we’re asking You to give us more Holy Spirit!”

Again from, Colossians 3:23, Paul is speaking to bond servants. A person who is bound to another.

The term bond-servant referred to a person in a permanent role of service. A bondservant was considered the property of a Roman citizen, holding no right to leave his place of service.

Some historians estimate that in the first century as many as one-third of the Roman population lived as bondservants.

Throughout the NT, on several occasions, Paul called himself a bondservant of Jesus Christ, So did Jude, James, John and Peter.

You know as well as I do, I (you) could leave at anytime, but why? Why, would I leave the ‘One’ that gives me dreams to do what I can’t do without Him. P.H

Again, Colossians 3:23AMP Whatever you do [whatever your task may be], work from the soul [that is, put in your very best effort], as [something done] for the Lord and not for men,

A literal translation could read: Do it like your life depends on it.

In other words, give it everything you've got.

I want you to hear the passion of Jesus, it’s found in His words. Mark 12:30AMP and you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul (life), and with all your mind (thought, understanding), and with all your strength.’

Jesus is stating—It’s time to get seriously passionate, give Me your all, don’t hold back!

Jesus may have been meek and mild, but he also had a passionate side. He touched lepers, celebrated Samaritans, stopped storms, exercised demons, ate with sinners, healed on the Sabbath, and turn funeral processions into parades! Then he died the way he lived, with pure passion.
