Summary: The goodness of the Lord is not and will never be in vain. He never fails and never ever disapoints all y9u need do is, come and taste and see that the Lord is good all the time.

Psalms 34:8

O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.

Certainly, David is one of the men that lived and enjoyed the goodness of the Lord according to his testimonies in various scriptures. David is indeed a testified.

O taste and see that the Lord is good, is simply an invitation to all who want practical evidence of the goodness of the Lord in their lives. Do you really need testimonies? Are you in want and lack? Are you afflicted? Are you facing one challenge or the other, David says O taste and see that the Lord is good.

You may ask, in what area is the Lord good? Oh countless but let us look at a very few:

1. In Protection

Our God is mighty in protection. The Bible says in Proverbs 18:10

The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe. Once you have Jesus, safety is guaranteed according to Proverbs 21:31

The horse is prepared against the day of battle: but safety is of the LORD.

You need safety, run to Jesus!

2. In Provision

Our God is mighty in Provision. No wonder the Psalmist says taste and see that the Lord is good. Our God does not just provide for the now, He provides for generations yet unborn. The Bible says in Psalms 37:25

I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread. Yes it is very true. This is exactly His promise in His Word in 3 John 1:2 Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. Apostle attested to this fact in Philippians 4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

Are you really in need of Provision? Jesus is the answer.

3. In Healing

Our God is a healer. Infact He decleared this Himself and we know it to be very true. He said in Exodus 15:26

And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that healeth thee.

No doubt, He heals. Healing is one of the reasons He took the stripes for us for it is written in

1 Peter 2:24

Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

4. In Deliverance

Our great God is mighty in deliverance. He saves and delivers to the uttermost. The Bible says Psalms 34:17

The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.

Again, it is written in

Psalms 54:7

For he hath delivered me out of all trouble: and mine eye hath seen his desire upon mine enemies.

Psalms 107:6

Then they cried unto the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them out of their distresses.

So are you in need of deliverance, run to the deliverer Himself, Jesus Christ our Saviour

5. In Salvation

There is simply no other name by which men can be saved other than the name of Jesus. God has so highly exalted Jesus and given Him a name above every other names, that at the mention of the name Jesus, every knee must bow. So it is written in Philippians 2:10

That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;

None, salvation is in no other name. Acts 4:12 says that Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

Maybe your question is how can I taste and see the goodness of the Lord.

1. Come to Him

Jesus is ever ready to give you your due portion if only you can come to Him. Infact He is every ready to receive you and take away all your worries and burdens. In Matthew 11:28-29 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

What a good God we have in Jesus? Why delay? He is saying my child come to me.
