God promises that the measure we give will be the measure we receive. This sermon explores this promise and how we can grow in Christ.

Introduction

In today's sermon, we will explore the principle of God's Law of Measure. This principle, established by God, states that the measure we use in our interactions with others will be used in return towards us. It applies to various aspects of our lives, including how we give to others, forgive others, build relationships, and even our relationship with the Lord.

Giving and Receiving

As stated in Matthew 15:10-11, it is not what enters our mouths that defiles us, but what comes out of our mouths. This principle applies to giving and receiving as well. If we give anger, we will receive anger. If we give love, we will receive love. If we sow bitterness, we will reap bitterness. However, if we sow peace, joy, and smiles, we will receive the same in return. The measure we use in giving determines what we receive.

Forgiveness

In Luke 6:37, Jesus teaches us not to judge or condemn others but to forgive them. The measure of forgiveness we extend to others is the measure of forgiveness we will receive from God. As 1 John 1:9 assures us, if we confess our sins, God is faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Building Relationships

Proverbs 18:24 reminds us that if we want friends, we must show ourselves friendly. We must sow seeds of friendship to reap friendship. Ephesians 5:28 instructs husbands to love their wives as they love their own bodies. This principle applies to all relationships. The measure of love and kindness we give to others determines the measure we receive in return.

Our Relationship with the Lord

In John 7:37-38, Jesus invites those who are thirsty to come to Him and drink. Those who believe in Him will have rivers of living water flowing from within them. To experience the fullness of God, we must make Him our source. We must seek Him with all our hearts, as Jeremiah 29:13-14 encourages us. Knowing about God is not enough; we must have a personal relationship with Him.

Finances

Malachi 3:10 urges us to bring our tithes to God's house, promising that He will open the windows of heaven and pour out blessings until they overflow. When we give our tithes, we open ourselves to God's abundant provision.

Conclusion

God's Law of Measure is a principle that applies to every area of our lives. The measure we use in giving, forgiving, building relationships, and even in our relationship with God determines what we receive. Let us be mindful of the measure we use and strive to give generously, forgive freely, love unconditionally, and seek God wholeheartedly. As we do so, we will experience the blessings and abundance that come from living in alignment with God's Law of Measure.
