Summary: The tabernacle of David was pitched in the city of Jerusalem on a mountain named Zion. Mount Zion in Jerusalem was where God's presence was. All of Zion was in Jerusalem but not all of Jerusalem was in Zion.

Topic: THE RESTORATION OF THE TABERNACLE OF DAVID

1.OBJECTIVES is to understand;

i. What is meant by "the tabernacle of David.”

ii. When it will be restored.

iii. How it will be restored.

iv. How this restoration relates to you and me

KEY VERSES: (Acts 15:15-17)

"After this I will return and rebuild David's fallen tent. Its ruins I will rebuild, and I will restore it, that the remnant of men may seek the Lord, and all the Gentiles who bear my name..." (Acts 15:15-17 NIV)

I will build again the tabernacle of David which is fallen down; and I will build again the ruins thereof. Vs 16 (kjv)

Yet they tempted and provoked the most high God and kept not His testimonies; but turned back, and dealt unfaithfully like their fathers: they were turned aside like a deceitful bow.For they provoked Him to anger with their high places and moved Him to jealousy with their graven images. When God heard this, He was wroth, and greatly abhorred Israel: So that He forsook the Tabernacle of Shiloh, the tent which He placed among men. And delivered His strength into captivity and His glory into the enemy's hand. (Psalms 78:56-61)

(b)In the last lesson, we lernt

How and why the ark (symbol of the presence and the Glory of God) was captured, where it was taken, how it was restored and its spiritual significance in our lives

We also learnt:

i. what the Glory of God is

ii. the purpose of the Glory of God

iii. why the Glory of God departs from His people.

iv. What’s necessary for the restoration of God's glory(discussed briefly)

We discovered that:

God reveals His glory that the nations may come to know Him: and also to us individually for the following reasons:

• Provision….physical/spiritual needs

• Unity

• Ability to successfully finish what you start

• Confidence

• Protection

• Strength

• Rest

• Joy

• Sanctification

• The fear of God

• Liberty

• Devine health

• Guidance

• Wisdom

(c) Today we want to go a step farther on this series.

but first let me make this important announcement

Jesus is coming back very soon

The unfortunate part is that most Christians are not ready

The ark has been captured by the philistines, and we are not even aware.

How do we know that the ark has been captured?

1.When prayer ceases to be a vital part of your life.

2. When you have lost your spiritual strength, and do not even realize it…(Samson)

3. When your heart is hard: Your tears do not flow easily; you are uncaring and unconcerned over the spiritual condition of your friends, relatives and their sorrows..(every man for himself, God for us all)

4. When you pardon your sin with excuses like "the Lord knows I am just dust" or "that is the way I am."

5. When you can indulge in sin without protest by your conscience.

6. When gossip, backbiting, slander, strife, discord, faultfinding and character assassination is good news to you…..psalms 3;1-4

7. When the quest for Biblical truth and longing for the house of God ceases and you become content with the knowledge you have already acquired.

8. When you can hear the Lord's name taken in vain, spiritual concerns mocked and not be moved to indignation and action.

9. When your friends can comfortably sin in your presence while they know you do claim you are a Christian

10. When your lack of spiritual power no longer concerns you; there is no restless yearning for more of God and His power in your life.

11. When things like recreation, sports, and entertainment become first in your life while you have 1000 reasons to miss church

12. When the slightest excuse seems sufficient to keep you from Christian service.

13. When your fleshly senses are out of control: You watch degrading movies and television, listen to ungodly music, and read morally debilitating literature.

14. When the moral, political, spiritual, and economic conditions of the world and your nation are of no concern to you.

(d) Jesus spoke of our day in the parable of the “wise virgins.”

“While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.” (Matt. 25:5)

25:1 Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.

25:2 And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.

25:3 They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them:

25:4 But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.

25:5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.

25:6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.

25:7 Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.
