Summary: God requires a sacrifice from us, and it is our praise

The Purpose of the book of Hebrews was to show the Law was fufilled by Christ. Jesus is a better way than the Olt Testament Prophets, we have a better way of worship. We dont have to go to a Porphet to sacrifice for our sins, through Christ we can ask forgivness of our own sins. Through Jesus Christ we can reach the Throne of God anytime we want. In Christ every thing is better.

I. Channel of Praise - By Him Therefore

In the Old Testament they ordained two kinds of ministers, a prophet and a priest

A. Prophet - Was Gods representative to man

B. Priest - Was mans Representative to God

Hebrews 9:11 tells us - But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more prefect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;

Old Testament, Priest sacrificed animals

New Testament, Jesus sacrificed himself, and the only way our praise can reach the Throne is - By Him (John 14:6)

II. Continuation of Praise - By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually,

A. It is easy to praise God when you are on a Mountain, your family is doing well, money is good, etc. And we should praise God for His blessings.

B. But do we praise God when you are in the valley, when death comes, sickness hits, etc.

That is why Job went through all his troubles; God was proving to the Devil He had a man that would praise him no matter what.

III. Conversation of praise - By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.

A. This verse teaches us that in our heart is not good enough

B. God is a God of words, John 1:1 - In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. When God wanted light He spoke it, land, water, birds, beast, God operates in words.

Conclusion:

We want our lives to be better sacrifice more praise to God. God requires a sacrifice, always has and always will, and our sacrifice to Him is our praise
