Exploring the invaluable contributions of mothers and their impact on our lives.

Introduction

Today, we gather to worship the Lord and show our appreciation for our mothers. It is not only a commandment to honor our mothers, but it is also a loving and sensible thing to do. Many of us here today wish we still had our mothers with us so we could honor, remember, and love them.

I. The Work of Mothers

Mothers are incredible workers. They tirelessly take care of their families and homes. They sew, shop, cook, clean, garden, and so much more. Proverbs 31 highlights the industriousness of mothers, describing how they select wool, work with eager hands, bring food from afar, provide for their families, and even plant vineyards. Mothers wake up early and work late into the night. They are always busy, never idle.

II. The Words of Mothers

Mothers have a special way of imparting wisdom and guidance to their children. Proverbs 31:26 says, "She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue." Mothers offer valuable advice and teach their children important life lessons. They provide words of caution, encouragement, and correction. Their words shape and mold their children's character.

III. The Love of Mothers

Mothers possess a deep love for their families. They care for their husbands and children with unwavering devotion. Proverbs 31:11-12 states, "Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value. She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life." A mother's love is selfless and sacrificial. It is seen in the joy she brings to her home and the laughter she shares with her family.

Conclusion

In conclusion, we must honor and appreciate our mothers for all they do. They work tirelessly, speak words of wisdom, and love us unconditionally. Let us remember the impact our mothers have had on our lives and express our gratitude to them. Just as Thomas Edison said, "The memory of her will always be a blessing to me." May we arise and call our mothers blessed, praising them for their love and dedication.
