Summary: the word of God is the seed to supply your need

THE WORD OF GOD IS ALIVE

Hebrews 4:12:

For the Word of God is quick and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

I Peter 1:23:

Being born again not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the Word of God, which liveth and abideth forever.

I. God’s Word is alive. It contains life. A sower sows the Word. The seed is the Word.

II. God’s Word is powerful. It is a sword. A two-edged sword. The Word that convicts you is also the Word that saves you. Everything God can do, His Word can do, because He and His Word are One.

III. God’s Word prevails.

I want to talk about the fact that God’s Word is Alive, that it is Powerful, and that God’s Word prevails.

God’s Word prevails over everything. God’s Word carries it’s own power.

Our first scripture says: For the Word of God is quick.

That means it’s alive, that doesn’t mean it’s fast. It means it’s alive, a living thing. You know like I cut my fingernails into the quick. How many ever heard that phrase?

If I cut them into the live feeling part.

Jesus taught the parable of the sower in Luke 8:11. He said: The seed is the Word of God.

Mark 4 says as soon as they heard the Word, Satan came to steal it.

He likened the Word to a seed. How many know, what you get from a seed depends upon what you do with it. The life is in the seed.

In the parable of the grain of mustard seed, the man planted it in his garden, and it grew. It grew into a great tree.

The one who neglects the seed never sees the increase. For increase to come, the seed must be planted.

Can I tell you something? A miracle always follows the plow. The plow goes first, then the miracle follows the plow.

You know I can give you a seed, but if you neglect your seed, you won’t see any increase from it. It’s the one who plants, waters, and cares for the seed that will see the increase. The one who attends to it. The one who does something with it. The one who acts upon it.

We must keep the weeds out.

Proverbs 4:20 says, My son attend to my words, incline thine ear to my sayings.

Verse 22 says, For they are life unto those that find them and health to all their flesh.

The life is in the Word, but it is up to us as to what we do with it, or whether we attend to it.

In the beginning was the Word.

Faith is grown from the seed of the Word. Faith comes by hearing, and hearing from the Word of God.

We must choose whose or what word we will sow. We are bombarded by the word of the world.

Faith is grown from the seed of God’s Word.

God’s Word is powerful, or you could say, full of power. It has power to heal

He sent His Word and healed them.

God works by His Word. He uses people, but it is still the Word working through them.

When the elders anoint with oil and pray for the sick, it works because it is God’s Word being manifested. God works by His Word.

Look at Genesis Chapter One. Ten times at least you will see the phrase; God said.

The earth and all that we know of is here because God said. The Bible tells us that He is upholding all things by the Word of His power, Hebrews 1:3.

Power over nature, because God’s Word created nature.

Jesus spoke to the wind and the sea and they obeyed His Word. When He cursed the fig tree it died.

God spoke and the sun stood still for Joshua

All physical law must obey spiritual law, because spiritual law was first.

God’s Word is powerful. It is a two-edged sword. The Word that convicts you is the same Word that saves.

The promise that saved Noah and his family condemned the rest of the world.

The Word of God that reached my heart and broke it when I was lost and in sin is the same Word that came in and saved and healed my broken heart.

God’s Word has power to call things into being. He called Abraham a nation. He called Peter steadfast. He called the world into being.

Do you believe this?

Well He also called us healed. He called us more than conquerors.

He has called us a glorious church. He has called us a royal priesthood, but friend He has also called for the destruction of this world.
