THREE CLAIMS-ONE CHOICE

(John 14:1-6) Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know. Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way? Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. (KJV)

This is a passage that brings comfort in the tough times of life.

1. Jesus spoke about dying.

“Whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.”

(Matthew 16:21) From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day. (KJV)

(Luke 9:22) Saying, The Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be slain, and be raised the third day. (KJV)

(Luke 18:31) Then he took unto him the twelve, and said unto them, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem, and all things that are written by the prophets concerning the Son of man shall be accomplished. (KJV)

2. Jesus spoke about departure.

(John 14:1,2) Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

Jesus answers the questions:

I. HOW CAN I BE SAVED?

“I am the Way”

A. HE IS THE OPEN WAY.

1. To the Father

2. To forgiveness

3. To the future

a. Do you want to meet Him?

b. Do you want to miss Hell?

B. HE IS THE ONLY WAY.

“No man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”

Ac 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

(John 6:68) Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life. (KJV)

II. HOW CAN I BE SURE?

“I am the Truth”

A. THOMAS ASKED.

“We know not whither thou goest; and how can we know

the way?”

1. Was he sleeping? Jesus just got through telling him.

2. Was he skeptic? “Solutions to human problems are never

found in skepticism, but rather in the affirmation of

faith.” Merrill C. Tenney

B. THE ANSWER.

“If it were not so, I would have told you.”

1. God’s Word is sure.

(Luke 21:33) Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words

shall not pass away. (KJV)

2. God’s Word is a source of joy.

(John 14:1-6) Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in

God, believe also in me.

III. HOW CAN I BE SATISFIED?

“I am the Life”

A. YOU MUST TURN TO CHRIST.

1. Riches can never satisfy a lost soul.

2. Religion can never satisfy a lost soul.

B. YOU MUST TRUST IN CHRIST.

“Ye believe in God, believe also in me.”

Are you upset by any problems in your life? Does there seem to be no solution? Jesus said, “Let not your heart be troubled, I will give you peace.”
