Summary: Wings are found in God's presence.

A. INTRODUCTION

“But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31, NKJV

1. Two kinds of people need wings:

a. Devastated, drained of purpose/energy

b. Discouraged, fighting, and struggling but never fly/win.

2. Looking for wings in the wrong place:

a. Alcohol.

b. Sex.

c. Cutting expenses.

3. However He may give your wings to:

a. Spouse.

b. Friend.

c. Church.

d. ________________________.

4. Why does God want you to search for them?

a. Develops character.

b. Learn and grow.

c. Find God’s presence.

5. You cry, “where are my wings?” God knows. Rather you should cry, “Where is God?” Right where He has always been.

Wings are found in God’s presence.

B. FINDING AND USING YOUR WINGS

1. It takes two wings to fly; vision/faith (Proverbs 29:18), and smart work (Hebrews 11:6).

2. Look how birds begin:

a. Slowly.

b. First flap the hardest.

3. Wrong way:

a. Rationalize problems.

b. Human jumping.

c. Procrastination.

4. Wings:

a. Break power of gravity.

b. Lift you up.

c. Give freedom.

d. Not reach height immediately.

e. Mount up to find God.

5. Waiting is hard to do:

a. Little boy … hurry … now!!

b. The longest you stay in His presence, the more like Him you become.

c. How do you stay in His presence? Two people in love, it’s all in relationship.

6. Flying takes total commitment:

a. Not passive flapping.

b. Leap into ____________________.

c. Must overcome law of gravity.

d. Yield let go of limb.

7. Flying is like faith:

a. Pull Heaven down.

b. Lift up to sky/God.

8. If you do not use your wings:

a. Weak and wither.

b. Forget how to use.

c. Lose vision/desire to fly.

9. How God motivates you to fly:

a. Problems.

b. Habits/addiction.

c. Challenge/future.

d. His will for you.

10. If you are a bird, remember cats eat birds. “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour” (1 Peter 5:8).

C. TEN LESSONS ABOUT WAITING

1. You get strength from the Lord to do difficult things.

2. You can endure problems and persecution waiting before the Lord.

3. You get strength you did not realize by waiting on the Lord.

4. You are able to soar over barriers and problems waiting on the Lord.

5. You are able to face attacks and enemies in God’s presence.

6. Some problems are not solved immediately, but your patience will lead to success; remember wait on the Lord.

7. Once you have soared over these days of problems/difficulties, you are equipped to handle greater ones in the future.

8. The solution is not in you or in waiting, but in God.

9. There are many things to do while waiting on the Lord, i.e., pray, seek wisdom, look at all solutions, then choose the best, etc.

10. As you begin to wait on the Lord, remember He was waiting on you first.

If you have never really accepted Jesus as your personal Savior, would you do it right now? Do not delay or put it off. If you would like to receive Christ by faith, pray this simple prayer in your heart:

Dear Lord, I acknowledge that I am a sinner. I believe Jesus died for my sins on the cross, and rose again the third day. I repent of my sins. By faith I receive the Lord Jesus as my Savior. You promised to save me, and I believe You, because You are God and cannot lie. I believe right now that the Lord Jesus is my personal Savior, and that all my sins are forgiven through His precious blood. I thank You, dear Lord, for saving me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

If you prayed that prayer, God heard you and saved you. I personally want to welcome you to the family of God and rejoice with you.
