2.The law. Hebrew: towrah (HSN-8451) (from yarah (HSN-3384)), to direct;

guide; teach; make straight or even; point forward; that which guides, directs, and

instructs in the way of righteousness; that which gives the knowledge of sin (Romans 3:20; 1 John 3:4). Found 25 times in this psalm (Psalm

119:1,18,29,34,44,51,53,55,61,70,72,77,85,92,97; Psalm 119:109,113,126,136,142,

150,153,163,165,174).

It is called:

(1)The law of the Lord (Psalm 119:1; Psalm 1:2; Psalm 19:7; 1 Chron. 16:40; 1

Chron. 22:12; 2 Chron. 17:9; 2 Chron. 31:3-4; 2 Chron. 35:26; Isaiah 5:24;

Isaiah 30:9; Jeremiah 8:8; Amos 2:4; Luke 2:23,24,39)

119:136,142,150,153,163,165,174)

Hosea 8:12)

(9)The law of truth (Malachi 2:6)

(10)The law of the Jews (Acts 25:8)

(11)Moses’ law (Hebrews 10:28)

Chron. 23:18; 2 Chron. 30:16; Ezra 3:2; Ezra 7:6; Neh. 8:1; Luke 2:22; Luke

24:4; John 7:23; Acts 13:39; Acts 28:23). It is called the law of Moses because it was given to him (John 1:17). Hence, to teach that the law of God and the law of Moses are two different laws—that God gave the moral law and Moses gave the ceremonial law—is a fallacy.
