While the Crucifixion of Christ allowed for forgiveness of our sins, the Resurrection serves as our entrance into Heaven. We all have a choice to make in this life. Will we follow Jesus Christ to wherever He may lead us? Or, will we try to do things the world’s way, chasing after meaningless, temporary and empty satisfaction for only a few, short years? The Resurrection calls us to have an Eternal perspective.

Youth Sermon: We Have Access

Introduction

Today, we're gonna talk about the Resurrection of Jesus. That's the event we celebrate on Easter. But before we dive in, let me show you something cool.

See this locked box? Imagine all the awesome stuff inside, but we can't get to it because it's locked. Bummer, right? Well, Jesus is like the key to this box. His death and resurrection opened the door to eternal life for us. So, let's talk about how that works.

Jesus' death on the cross forgave our sins, but His resurrection gives us access to Heaven. We've got a choice to make - follow Jesus or chase after the temporary stuff the world offers. The Resurrection reminds us to focus on what lasts forever.

Jesus is like the key to this box. His death and resurrection opened the door to eternal life for us.

The Good News

Alright, so the Bible tells us that we've all messed up and sinned. And the punishment for sin is death - not just physical death, but being separated from God forever. That's a pretty big deal. But the good news is that Jesus came to save us from that fate.

When Jesus died on the cross, He took the punishment for our sins. But it doesn't stop there - He came back to life! That's what we celebrate on Easter. And because He's alive, we can have eternal life with Him in Heaven.

So, how do we get this eternal life? It's a gift from God. We don't have to earn it or be perfect. We just have to believe in Jesus and follow Him.

Following Jesus

Now, following Jesus isn't always easy. We'll face challenges and tough times. But if we keep our eyes on Him and remember the big picture - eternity with Him - we can make it through anything.

In Hebrews 12:1-2, the Bible tells us to throw off anything that's holding us back and run the race of faith with our eyes on Jesus. So, what's holding you back? What's keeping you from fully following Jesus and focusing on eternity?

As we wrap up, think about that locked box from earlier. Jesus is the key to unlocking eternal life. Don't let anything hold you back from accepting His gift and following Him.

Prayer

"Jesus, thank you for the gift of eternal life. Help us to throw off anything holding us back and to follow you with all our hearts. We love you. Amen."
