Psalm 18:1-3 What a Saviour

I. The LORD Our Desire - 1 I will love thee, O LORD, my strength.

He is Our Lord - 1 I will love thee, O LORD

He is Our Love - It's Personnal - I, Positive - will, & Proper - love thee

He is our Life - O LORD, my strength.

The Need for Strength, The Nucleus of it, The Nature of it.

Strength in Life, Strength in Death, Strength For Eternity.

Lam 3:22 It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed,

because his compassions fail not.

Acts 17:28 For in him we live, and move, and have our being;

II. The LORD Our Defense - 2 The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer;

my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation,

and my high tower.

A. He is Our Stay – My Rock.

B. He is Our Stronghold – My Fortress -

Ps.139:5 Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me.

• He is Above us

Psa 91:1 who shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty

• Beneath us - Deut. 33:27 - “underneath are the everlasting arms.”

• Behind us - Isa. 58:8 - “the LORD shall be your rear guard.”

• Before us - Isa.52:12 - “the LORD will go before you.”

• Beside us - Psalm 23:4 -“I will fear no evil for thou art with me.”

C. He is Our Saviour - My Deliverer.

One who “saves, secures, and sustains”

D. He is Our Sovereign - My God.

E. He is Our Strength - My Strength.

Heb.13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

F. He is Our Security - In whom I trust.

G. He is Our Shield - My Buckler. literally “a shield.”

Ps.34:7 The angel of the Lord encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.

H. He is Our Salvation - The Horn of my Salvation.

The horn speaks of “strength, power, and conquest.”

I. He is Our Supply - My High Tower.

The tower offered rest, security, and provision.

III. The LORD Our Deliverer 3 I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.

I. God Is Worthy Of Our Desire - v.1

II. God Is Worthy Of Our Dependence - v.2

III. God Is Worthy Of Our Devotion - v.3

David's Resolve - 3 I will call upon the Lord,

David's Respect - who is worthy to be praised

David's Reassurance - so shall I be saved from mine enemies.
