Summary: 1. Only God gives the gifts of healing ministries to certain people.

1. Only God gives the gifts of healing ministries to certain people. Dr. Luke wrote, "Then Peter said to the crippled man, "Silver and gold I do not have, but what I have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth walk." Taking him by the right hand, he helped him up and instantly the man' s feet and ankles became strong. He jumped to his feet and began to walk. Then he went

with them into the temple courts, walking and jumping, and praising God. When all the people saw him walking and praising God, they recognized him as the same man who used to sit begging and they were filled with amazement at what had happened to him. (Acts 3:6-10)

2. Jesus does the law seek to kill?" But them remained silent... He said to the man, "Stretch out your hand." He stretched it out, and his hand was completely restored. (Mk. 3:3-5)

3. Enlist the cooperation and prayers of Godly leaders in your healing ministry. James wrote, "But this happened so that the work of God might be displayed in his life. As long as it is day, we must do the work of Him who sent me. Night is coming, when no one can work." (Jn. 9:1-4)

4. He heals in His time and way. Meet the preconditions by being humble and fearing the Lord in reverence and truth. Solomon wrote, "Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil. This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones. (Prov. 3:7,8) Reckless words pierce like a sword, but the tongue of the wise brings healing. (Prov. 12:18)

5. Be careful in what you say to the hurting. Apply the medicine of kind counsel to people's hearing. Solomon wrote, "Pleasant words area honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones." (Prov. 16:24)

6. Choose words carefully. Be buoyant, upbeat and joyful to encourage those are sick in body, mind and emotions. Solomon wrote, "A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones." (Prov. 17:22)

7. Practice praising and thanking God together in advance for what He will do for you. David wrote, "Praise the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits - who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases." (Psa. 103:2,3)

7. Give credit to the Lord for all healing and express your faith publicly in God's ability to mend broken lives. Dr. Luke wrote, "Then Peter filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them: "Rulers and elders of the people! It is by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified but whom God raised from the dead, that this man stands before you healed." (Acts 4:8-10)

9. Use your healing ministry for God's glory, the advancement of His church and the discipling of people. Dr. Luke wrote, "The apostles performed many miraculous signs and wonders among the people... More and more men and women believed in the Lord and were added to their number. As a result, people brought the sick into the streets and laid them on beds and mats so that at least Peter's shadow might fall on some of them as he passed by. Crowds gathered also from the towns around Jerusalem, bringing sick and those tormented by evil spirits, and all of them were healed.

10. Ask the Lord to lead you to other people who possess the gifts of healing. Paul wrote, "And in the church God has appointed first of all apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then workers of miracles, also those having gifts of healing. (I Cor. 12:28)

11. Realize that you will have to humbly go to those who recognize their need for the Lord's spiritual as well as physical healing. Mark wrote, "When the Pharisees saw this, they asked His disciples, "Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?" On hearing this Jesus said, "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick." But go and learn what this means: I desire mercy, not sacrifice. For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners." (Matt. 9:11,12)
