What Are You Leaving Behind

Summary: Are you leaving behind peace or strife?
WHAT ARE YOU LEAVING BEHIND?
1 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy(NIV SAYS LOVE) shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.
AFTER YOU HAVE BEEN SOME WHERE, WHAT HAVE YOU LEFT BEHIND?
DAVID SAID THAT GOODNESS AND MERCY(LOVE) FOLLOWED HIM.
WHAT ARE YOU LEAVING BEHIND YOU?
THINK ABOUT EACH PERSON YOU SPEAK WITH THROUGH OUT THE DAY.
DID I LEAVE PEACE WITH A WORD I SPOKE?
DID I STIR UP STRIFE WITH A WORD OF GOSSIP?
WHAT DID I LEAVE BEHIND?
12 And by the hands of the apostles were many signs and wonders wrought among the people; (and they were all with one accord in Solomon’s porch.
13 And of the rest durst no man join himself to them: but the people magnified them.
14 And believers were the more added to the Lord, multitudes both of men and women.)
15 Insomuch that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them.
16 There came also a multitude out of the cities round about unto Jerusalem, bringing sick folks, and them which were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed every one.
THE DISICPLES LEFT BEHIND HEALED, DELIVERED, AND SAVED PEOPLE.
WHAT ARE YOU LEAVING BEHIND?
26 If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.
SERVE MEANS TO WORK FOR, AID, OR HELP.
FOLLOW MEANS TO GO ALONG, TO RESULT FROM, TO OBEY, TO WATCH OR LISTEN TO CLOSELY, TO UNDERSTAND, TO TAKE AS A MODEL, TO CONTINUE.
THERE IS A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SERVING AND FOLLOWING AND THEY BOTH NEED TO BE DONE. IF WE WANT TO LEAVE BEHIND A PATH THAT OUR CHILDREN CAN WALK WE HAVE TO NOT ONLY SERVE HIM BUT WE HAVE TO FOLLOW HIM.
22 A good man leaveth an inheritance to his children’s children: and the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just.
WHAT ARE YOU LEAVING YOUR CHILDREN?
ARE YOU LEAVING A PATH THAT YOUR CHILDREN CAN WALK IN?
IF WE ARE FOLLOWING GOD, SERVING HIM WITH ALL OUR HEARTS, AND LEAVING BEHIND US HEALED, DELIVERED AND SAVED PEOPLE, WE ARE LEAVING OUR CHILDREN AN INHERITANCE THAT WILL OUT LIVE EVEN THEIR CHILDREN!
