Summary: After the Rapture

There are going to be 2 different things happening when the Rapture occurs. In Heaven, there is great rejoicing. On earth, there will be chaos that goes beyond our imagination. People will literally be going crazy with fear, grief, guilt, and anger. Many people who call themselves Christians will be left behind because they didn't strive to live Holy, godly lives. On the outside, they appeared to be righteous. But in private they were hypocrites. Matthew 23.

In Heaven, as true believers are rejoicing, another event is occurring called the Judgment Seat of Christ. This is a judgment for Christians only. It won't be a salvation issue. We will be judged on what we did for Jesus after accepting His gift of salvation. Our work will go through the fire and if it endures, we receive a reward. If it burns up, we won't be rewarded for it. We'll still be saved though. Anytime we do something for God, we must make sure our motives are pure. Anything done for our glory will amount to nothing. 1 Corinthians 3:12-15.

As for the earth, the 7 years of Tribulation will begin.

Another thing that is handed out in Heaven is crowns. The Bible speaks of 5 crowns: crown of life (James 1:12, Revelation 2:10) crown of righteousness (2 Timothy 4:8), crown of glory (1 Peter 5:4), incorruptible crown (1 Corinthians 9:25), and crown of rejoicing (1 Thessalonians 2:19, Philippians 4:1).

The crown of life us given to believers who remain faithful through trials and tribulations (James 1:2). The crown of righteousness is for believers who are looking forward to Jesus's appearance. The crown of glory is for the shepherds of the church (pastors). The incorruptible crown is given for faithfully running the race. (2 Timothy 4:7) The crown of rejoicing is for those who led others to Christ.
