Summary: When one sense fails or is not available all others are elevated

When Hearing is The Only Option

Luke 18: 35-40

Vs. 35 Near – When Jesus Is near something on the inside prompts you to posture yourself for completion.

Jesus wasn’t there yet but he was on his way, he was about 17 miles out yet that’s considered near

Blindman – Sensual Perception of sight or natural sight gone

Side of the Road – No Sign – No Sight – No Pan But Tenasious about soliciting to get his physical needs to accomplish his purpose no matter what the outcome was. In the United States we would call this Aggressive Panhandling, there’s no handbook or skill set required for begging; nonetheless, In order to be a begger you have to have a strong work ethic.

In order to be a begger your work ethics prove that you’ll stand out in the 1) Snow 2) Rain 3) Sun for hours to position themselves to take a little bit and be satisfied.

This was never God’s intent that we become beggers with Jesus on the Premises.

Matthew 4:4 It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God

Vs. 36 Hearing a Multitude – Heard people with there needs met

When one of your senses is gone the others become greater:

Senses: 1) Hearing 2) Tasting 3) Smelling 4) Touching

Luke 4:18 18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised

When your sight is gone your hearing has to be elevated.

Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Multitude - "a crowd or multitude of persons, "much" or "great," it signifies "a great multitude,", or "the common people,

Asked what it meant – Inquired what was going on – what was all the noise

Vs. 37 Told him Jesus of Nazareth was passing by – Began to prepare himself for he knew of Jesus and what he was capable of doing. When you know God is moving everythig is possible

Vs. 38 And he cried, saying, Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me.

He Cried – Yelled Or intensified his praise – You have to learn how to shout to get the attention of the one who has the authority to change your situation – Changed his behavior

Son of David Have mercy on me – Did not ask for grace but mercy

Grace – When God gives you what you don’t deserve

Mercy – When God does not give you what you do deserve

Have mercy on me – Give me an audience with people greater than I have ever seen

Vs. 39 When your haters tell you to be quiet you do just that, the blind man refuse to close his mouth but yelled all the more

Vs. 40 He commanded Jesus to be still Psalm 91:1 1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abidea under the shadow of the Almighty.
