6-Week Series: Against All Odds

Summary: Much of the information in this study comes from Dr. David Dewitt's book "Unraveling the Origins Controversy" and "Answers in Genesis"

Slide 1 shows the Tree of evolution.

What is the first thing you notice about the picture?

Slide 2 shows the Creation orchard. What is the difference this picture and the tree of evolution?

God created them after their own kind.

Slide 3: Gen 1:11, 21, 24-26 NIV - 11 Then God said, "Let the land produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds." And it was so. ...

Slide 4: 21 So God created the great creatures of the sea and every living thing with which the water teems and that moves about in it, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.

Slide 5:... 24 And God said, "Let the land produce living creatures according to their kinds: the livestock, the creatures that move along the ground, and the wild animals, each according to its kind." And it was so.

Let’s look at something that scientist have come up with slide 11 is Lucy, one of Eve’s granddaughters?

Look at Lucy’s hand in the next slide: slide 12.

Her hand is human. There were no foot or hand bones found with Lucy’s fossilized bones, so how do we know she hand human hands & feet?

Slide 13: Scientist only found 40% of Lucy’s remains and most creationists and even some evolutionist believe Lucy is an extinct ape.

The next question is; Where is the Garden of Eden?

Show Scripture slides 14-17

Compare slides 18, 19

SLIDE 1: The four rivers of the Garden of Eden.

Could remnants of the Garden of Eden be found today?

SLIDE 2: According to the map; what rivers in the description of the Garden of Eden are common to rivers today?

__Great Pee Dee

*Do you recognize the area these rivers are located in? SLIDE 3

So this MUST be the location and we should be able to find some evidence. Right?

__It’s there, we just need to look harder.

__When God sent Adam and Eve out of the garden He blew it to smithereens.

__Hold on big boy…what about the flood!?

What about the flood? Did the flood completely cover the earth or not? The answer to that question could determine what we believe about the physical existence of Eden.

To believe we could find the Garden of Eden today, what would have to be true about Noah’s Flood? List your answers in the space below.
