Summary: Jesus is the door to life....

I would like to and try and preach this message by the help of the Holy Ghost to this subject in your hearing. But it’s a question that is not phycological or philosophical by any means but it’s more spiritual than anything and it carries a lot of weight. And that question is “Who’s Knocking at Your Door?”.

My younger brother Vinson would visit us from time to time. He’ll bring his wife with him sometimes. There’s something he likes to do when he comes over to see me and Vanessa, first he’ll put his hand over the peep hole. We’re say who is and he’ll holler “police” and he’ll laugh. He did that so good until we know it’s him being the prankster he still is. Then I’ll tell him, “yeah right!” and I open up the door.

Things has change now and technology has gotten cleaver by inventing RING. RING is for the home owner that allows you to see who is coming to your door.

This is the third I AM of seven that is found in the Gospels. Jesus made this declaration that He is the “door” and not just a “door”.

Jesus is not only our Shepherd who leads us into the “sheepfold,” but He is the only door by which we may enter and be saved (John 10:9). Jesus is the only means we have of receiving eternal life (John 3:16).

How can we get to know Him? If Jesus is knocking at the door of your heart, would you let Him in or let an opportunity go by without getting to know Jesus?

Here are somethings I would like for you to consider and ponder on the intimacy of God through Christ:

HAVING DESIRE. Having the drive, that passion in getting to know Him. “Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ” Philippians 3: 8-10. In other words, knowing that everything is worthless compared with they priceless gain of knowing Christ my Lord putting all other things aside and counting it worthless than nothing in order that I can have Christ. Nothing matches the captaincy of God.

OPENNESS: Honesty. One of my favorite authors Mark Twain was once quoted saying, “There's one way to find out if a man is honest: ask him; if he says yes, you know he's crooked”. Proverbs 12:22 tells us that “The LORD detests lying lips, but he delights people who are trustworthy.” You can trust God and He is trustworthy so be open to Him.

HUMILITY: According to Merriam-Webster, HUMILITY means: freedom from pride or arrogance: the quality or state of being humble. James wrote about this subject telling us to “Humble yourself before the LORD, and he will exalt you” James 4:10. The Gospel According to Bobby Womack he said, “No matter how high I get, I'll still be looking up to you...”

AGREEMENT: Two Scriptures comes to mind. Amos picked up his pen and asked the question in Amos 3:3 “Can two walk together except they agreed?”

And the other Scripture is 1 John 4:15 “Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God dwelleth in Him and he in God” This is so important that we make the confession in acknowledging that Jesus is LORD so that we He living in us and we with Him. How should confession be done? By confessing with your mouth, aloud letting the world know and messing up the enemy from whatever plans he has to destroy you because you that “the thief cometh not, but to steal, and to kill and to destroy...” John 10:10.

5.FOCUS: Does God has your attention? The methods God uses to get our attention are not the same for everyone, but there are some that are common attention getters. We need to pay attention to the things that happen to us and around us to discern when God is trying to capture our attention. Pay attention to the ways God uses to get your attention.

A) Distractions. The quickest way or one of the quickest way God can get your attention is by disrupting our plans by forcing us to slow down and to focus more on Him. Remember the Tower of Babel? Genesis 11:1-9 tells the story of how the people there wants to build a city and a tower, long before Trump Towers. So, it can reach up to the sky so that they could be famous so that we won’t be scattered all over the earth. The Lord looked down and saw the tower and hearing them speaking the same language but God had other plans, to confuse their language and scatter them throughout the Earth.
